Quote:
A Haunting in Venice is an American supernatural mystery film co-produced and directed by Kenneth Branagh from a screenplay by Michael Green, based on the 1969 novel Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie. The film serves as the sequel to Death on the Nile (2022), and it is the third one overall in which Branagh portrays the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. The ensemble cast includes Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio, and Michelle Yeoh.

A Haunting in Venice was released in the United States on September 15, 2023 by 20th Century Studios.

Beautiful cinematography and it was nice to see Tina Fey on screen again in a nicely fleshed out role, but I found this rather dull for the most part and the reveal is pretty obvious. Still of this trilogy it's probably the best one and doesn't really overstay its welcome. C+

I do not remember Murder that much but I honestly enjoyed Nile more than this *shrug* I found some elements interesting but the ensemble lacked.

These films should be so much better. They certainly should not be dull. Wasted opportunity.

I wasn't a fan of the previous two films, but I saw them in the cinema, so I thought to just catch this one too. And it's more of the same still, it's quite nicely made with the period setting, but the whodunit plot is more dull than exciting. The cast is of the lesser famous kind this time and instead it's blending in some horror elements that actually kind of work, but I don't like that most of the film is actually set in the gray and dark. It's a passable film and the franchise is consistent, but the films simply don't have enough redeemable qualities to be rewatchable.
