Re: Liar Liar
Carrey is terrifically over-the-top and the film is pretty edgy at times. The finale is sappy and sentimental, but what can you do?
Pound for pound, I think it's probably Carrey's best slapstick comedy.

Re: Liar Liar
Definitely a great comedy when it was out, still gets a good amount of laughs though. Carrey was in his prime here, even if it doesn't reach his manic heights.
I'd rate my Carrey comedies
Dumb and Dumber A+ Ace Ventura A Liar Liar A- Yes Man B+ Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls B+ Me, myself, and Irene B The Mask B Bruce Almighty C+ The Cable Guy C Fun With Dick and Jane D

Re: Liar Liar
I don't have my original review, but agree that this amongst the best of Jim Carrey's comedies.
(Lots of cool supporting actors here too - - eg: Jennifer Tilly and Swoosie Kurtz.)

Re: Liar Liar
One of my childhood favorites, just rewatched this and still a great film. Carrey is in his prime and carries the film, great performance and there's just plenty of hilarious bits. Very rewatchable for sure, the 90's felt like a good time for comedy.
