Excellent world building and character development. The story is a bit similar to how to train your dragon but it's definitely a fresh retelling of a familiar "the monsters we're fighting are actually nice" story. Best animated film of the year

Gonna have to check this out now. I saw some mention the HTTYD comparisons, and if it's even half as good as that franchise, then this should be great.
Some of the music from the film has also popped up on my recommendations, which makes me especially curious about this movie.

This was great in every way. Character designs, music, animation, world-building, dialogue, and more. The story isn't original, but when a film delivers on all fronts, that doesn't really matter and becomes an afterthought. Jacob might be a *little* bland, but other than that, the only thing I wanted more of was, well, more time in this world with these characters.
A-/A
