I don't actually know how I felt about this. Just watched it. I'll have to sit with it. I didn't like it nearly as much as I expected to though.

Re: The Lost Daughter
I was disappointed with this. Olivia Colman was great but all the characters were kind of despicable and it didn't really go anywhere despite a promising start. C+

Re: The Lost Daughter
Same as cory and Mike for me. The cast is great specially Colman and Maggie Gyllenhaal shows a lot of promise in handling complex characters and/or creating tense yet beautiful scenery. The problem lies with the overall story specially towards the end, other than guilt trip it does not go anywhere, given the cast either a solution or some deeper conflict towards the end would have made this worth.

This movie was engaging for the most part, but I didn't really understand what the point was. Abandoning your children feels great and terrible at the same time?
