No Time to Die is a 2021 spy film and the 25th in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions. It stars Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as the fictional British MI6 agent. The film marks Craig's final film as Bond. It is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.[4] Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear and Ralph Fiennes reprise their roles from previous films, with Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, David Dencik and Dali Benssalah joining the cast as new characters.

Development began in 2016. It is the first Bond film distributed by Universal Pictures, which acquired the international distribution rights following the expiration of Sony Pictures' contract after the release of Spectre in 2015. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer subsidiary United Artists Releasing holds the rights for North America, including worldwide digital and television rights. Universal also holds the rights for physical home media worldwide. Danny Boyle was originally attached to direct and co-write the screenplay with John Hodge. Both left due to creative differences in August 2018, and Fukunaga was announced as Boyle's replacement a month later. Most of the cast had signed on by April 2019. Principal photography was from April to October 2019 under the working title Bond 25. The final title was announced in August 2019.

No Time to Die had its world premiere at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 28 September 2021, and was released in cinemas from 30 September 2021 in the UK and 8 October 2021 in the US, after being delayed by Boyle's departure and later by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overall I thought the movie was great. I was entertained all the way through. Now the ending... yeah, it was lame but luckily it doesn't ruin the movie.

I was wondering when I will get the first review. I liked it but didn't love it. The spy stuffs are like the worst in the entire movie. Bond's personal story is really good and injects the much needed energy. Malek similar to Waltz is wasted (even more so) and the end is completely non-sensical given that we have seen Bond come out of these situations for last 20+ movies. Craig is AMAZING throughout, he is not a great spy but he delivers at all the personal stakes. Ana de Armas also stole the show in a small role whereas Lashana Lynch was pretty one-note.

Easily the second best Bond film behind Skyfall. I'll admit I'm not a very big fan of the series. Only saw Skyfall because of the great reviews and found it fantastic. Didn't watch Spectre until a couple nights ago because of the meh reaction. Definitely justified. Thankfully No Time To Die is very good. A bit long at times but there are many exciting scenes and great cinematography. The ending also worked for me. Maybe because I'm not overly invested in this series. I found it nice and moving though. My movie partner on the other hand, a big Bond fan, wanted to pretend this didn't exist lol.

Anyway, bring on Dan Stevens for the next Bond ;).

I'd go a B+ on this one.

I loved it. It was too long, but incredibly cinematic and hit the right emotional beats. I agree Craig was amazing - maybe his best performance yet as Bond - and the ending was pretty moving. The action sequences are also awesome and I agree with the consensus that Ana de Armas steals the show in her brief screentime. A-

I loved it as well. Brilliant action and very emotional. Craig was at his best and wonderful cameo from Ana de Armas. Even Bond scenes with 007 were great. Great finish to Craig's bond career. He is going to be a hard actor to replace. They have to do completely different track and I am not sure that will hit Craig's bond level success worldwide.

Also, of all the movies I've seen since theaters reopening in full force this was maybe the first where I was actually really happy I saw it in one. The cinematography and sound system made all the difference (I'd actually say the same for Titane on a smaller scale).

A fitting and very entertaining end to the Daniel Crag era of James Bond. I was skeptical to the necessity of the film, mostly since Craig seemed to have checked out sometime during the filming of Spectre, but the writers did a great job in completing the circles started in Casino Royale. It really did feel like five connected films rather than a series of individual stories like ... well every other era in the franchise's history.

No Time To Die looks fantastic at all times, I 100% agree with what cory said about seeing it in theaters. While I really liked both F9 and Shang-Chi, this one feels more ... cinematic? A corny term, but I can't think of a better one. For the first time since quarantine I actually felt comfortable in a theater. I was worried about the 2 hours and 40 minute runtime, but the film flies by and I didn't check my clock once during the entire thing. Excellent pacing that was lacking in Spectre, where I was frequently bored during the non-action scenes. No Time To Die even takes those to the next level with the single-shot staircase shootout being the highlight.

If I had to list some complaints, I'd say the writing is a bit simple at times. The second cold-open scene could have easily been in a Fast movie. Vin would chew those lines up. And while I actually liked Rami as the villain, it was disappointing that he turned from a psychotic wildcard to yet another "we are not so different, you and I" type that was going to destroy the world for ... reasons. I also didn't need to see Christoph Waltz come back, but I get that they were trying to wipe the board of every signature piece of the Craig era, so that the producers would be forced to start over next time (though I guess they could bring back Naomi, Voldemort and new 007 as they did with Judi Dench in the transition from Brosnan to Craig, but it wouldn't have the same impact.)

The last 30-40 minutes are very exciting and equally emotional and while I had a strong suspicion about how it would end (the title kinda gives it away), it still hit those feels hard.

So while No Time To Die did not reach the heights of Casino or Skyfall, it proudly can stand far above Spectre and Quantum (which I liked at the time, but haven't had any desire to watch it again.) A- So long, Mr. Craig. You definitely earned your status as the Best Bond.

I found it entertaining not engrossing, like I found all the Craig Bond films besides Casino Royale. I wonder if I'd like the older ones better since they have more humor apparently.

Skyfall totally ripped of TDK and tis totally rips of TDKR. Even the music while Bond goes HAM at the end feels like a lost TDKR OST. There is zero tension here. It feels like nothing is at stake. Malik is totally wasted. They make Bond a loving Father and then blow him up.

I enjoyed this a lot as an action film and a Bond film, but it also feels a bit bloated and the family drama didn't really work for me. All in all, the Craig Bond films come together as a pretty nice 5 film package, though it's really very much because of the goodwill of Casino Royale and from then on Craig just represents a very cool Bond closed off with No Time to Die as pretty much the standard as the sum of the previous 4 films. Seydoux is once again great in this film, De Armas owns every scene she's in and I like Lashana Lynch's role too. All the actions scenes, from the Italian town chase, to the party shoot-out and the forest set-piece are very well filmed and enthralling. The score is pretty much perfect through out as well. So simply a very good film, but it could have been neater with the story.

B+
