Re: A Quiet Place Part 2
It was really good but it felt too similar to the first film. It continues to have lots of really great sequences but in no way reinvents any sort of wheel.

Re: A Quiet Place Part 2
Very good follow up to the first film, it's better even. Very tense, Blunt is great and they expanded the world very well with a great intro and then continuing from where it left off. The only part I felt a bit weak was the son having to go out an explore to create some more action, I felt that should have come upon more naturally. But all the alien action is very cool, Murphy's character is a good addition and it has an excellent score. I think it's instantly one of the better Alien invasion films I've seen.

A pretty great follow-up, although the third act is what really elevated this for me and now I can't wait to see where Krasinski takes this franchise next with a third film. Cillian Murphy's character was just a badass, but I also thought the kids in particular the daughter really got to shine this time aswell and Blunt is never not fantastic IMO.

Yes, for me the final 10 minutes of the movie top the birth scene. I do not buy anyone saying that the scenes of the boy/girl saving the day wasn't the most satisfied they've been watching a movie in years. The way they shot it and edited it is perfect. I'm sorry but I started clapping right at the end. I don't remember being this tense in any other movie but the pay off was FUCKING WORTH IT.
So yeah, you guys saying it lacks tension and perfect scenes are just wrong. Not an option, just a fact

No doubt. The last 10 minutes were not just flawless, but as they played out and it became clear what was going to happen, the most obvious thought to me was Krasinski is going to be a really big deal as a director.

Re: A Quiet Place Part 2
A great follow-up that does a lot of things well yet after the great setup of first feels a little slight overall in terms of overall progression. In the original it felt that we learnt a LOT about aliens but here they are used more as tools for the story. There are also some rushed up elements like Blunt requesting to find daughter when the last sentence we hear is "You need to leave tomorrow", the boy(exploring scene)/girl (train scene) being used to build some tension and finally the creature in the boat (they are not smart enough to swim but they can travel on boat for whole night?). This movie like the last has this uncanny ability to tie a lot of different situations and threads together and deliver a satisfying end. Its just not as perfect as the first but still a great follow-up.

Re: A Quiet Place Part 2
Only coming back to review this because it was my first time back at the theater since Birds of Prey.
Brilliant. I fucking loved it. Could be that I missed the theaters so much, but I had tears in my eyes multiple times. Extremely stressed out by multiple scenes. Millicent Simmonds needs to be a star, she's excellent. The whole cast just kills it. I loved that it didn't just repeat the previous plot and expanded everything but still found a way to keep that tension with that ending 10 minutes.
A+

This is superb. A great sequel to a great film. It’s tense, great to look at and never outstays its welcome.
