A disappointing entry after two great predecessors. Nothing in here works and it moves into generic horror slasher movie. The mystery is still passable and the returning actors do well but everything else in meh in here.

This is my least favorite Scream movie, but honestly Parker Posey's Jennifer is one of my top five characters in the entire franchise. She's so good.

Just watched this over the weekend for the first time, after seeing the first two recently as well. And the franchise simply runs out of steam with this entry. It's still quite enjoyable with some good parts here and there, but straight from the beginning it doesn't manage to re-create some of the original Scream magic. And that's despite trying hard by basically making a film about the first film, with characters playing characters from it. Some parts of it work, but in terms of the killing and the development it's just more of the same and doesn't carry the same luster anymore. Thus it drags in the second half too, but the original cast is still quite nice. And though the new additions work less well, overall it's still an OK sequel, just there's a noticeable drop-off from 2.

On rewatching recently I thought it was better than I originally remember it. Though would rank it behind the first two.
