Frank Drebin is the man. Satire flicks like Scary movie and Date movie should learn a thing or two on how to balance making fun of pop culture and adding a bit of your own humor to the movie. The movie doesnt go thatdated like the Wayne World movies or the Austin Powers sequels(Austin Power 1 is still a classic)

That's because The Naked Gun 33 1/3 sucks.
Comparing that to the original is like comparing Scary Movie 2 to the original, except even worse.

Naked Gun 33 1/3 unfunny??
You mean you didnt find the sperm bank scene where he mentions he was tossing it around with his uncle funny, or Frank Drebin posing as Donahue in the academy awards and reading off everyones cue card funny??
The Naked Gun series is miles better than any of the Scary movies
And hey give credit to Naked Gun 33 1/3 for using black babies as the biological dad before it became a trend on Me Myself and Irene and King of the Hill

The Enrico Palotzo scene is my fave as well. Classic.

Re: The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
First one is a classic. One of my favorites growing up.
I watched the second last night and wasn't as favorable towards it. Though I admit it might have been different if I had watched in my teenage years, where I could appreciate but not love it ala Airplane 2. This one has some funny parts and I like the environmental theme (as minimal as it is), but it just felt lazy for the majority of it.

Re: The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
I saw this movie in bits and pieces before and liked but never came back to it and I am glad I did. The first Naked Gun is indeed classic and there are so many LOL jokes here that work so well which drown the ones that don't land. The story also moves at a brisk pace and the acting is aces for this sort of movie.

Superb film. Full of laughs, very funny, and so cleverly written. A brilliant spoof. Nielsen is fantastic, born for spoofs. His timing is excellent and his deadpan performance one-of-a-kind.
Hopefully the sequels also come on YouTube so I can check those out. I have a feeling I might have seen one of them already.
