Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Comparing this to Man of Steel from my point of view after one viewing of this I like Man of Steel more only because that film has grown on me over the years.
In regards to the final fight in this film versus the Zod fight in Man of Steel this one was extremely entertaining and Chippy is right that Wonder Woman just really got me going and honestly I can't wait to see her sequences again. Gal Gadotis a winner.
Also, Affleck is great. His Batman is vicious!

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Just got out. Will go more in detail later but I totally get why this is such a divisive film. The film wasn't what I was expecting.
Definitely need to process it more but when it's good it's real good.

I remember catching some hell from people in 2012 for pointing out that the Iron Man "sacrifice" in The Avengers felt hollow due to the fact Iron Man 3 was already in production at the time. There was nothing at stake for the character even though Whedon clearly intended for it to be a big deal in Avengers itself.

Sure, but it's all about how you handle that build-up. IRON MAN 2 is burdened with it and sucks. THE WINTER SOLDIER is all about moving the overall arc forward and soars.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I'm starting to think a lot of reviews that I read from last week were fake. I read a ton of spoilers and yet I was still surprised with the final product because half of that stuff never happened.
I'm seeing it again on Thursday but right now (DUN DUN DUN) I think I prefer Man of Steel. The whole cast is really great though. I've been reading this is essentially a Batman film and I strongly disagree. This is just as much Superman's film. Ben Affleck is really, really great I thought but for some reason he oddly felt shorthanded? Idk.
And after seeing the film, yes, I am illuminated in how big a mistake the second trailer was. Like yeah, they should definitely fire that guy.

Content wise, all their films are pretty much jokes. The Winter Soldier is probably the BIGGEST joke because it got so much undeserved praise. Stark has time to appear at Pierce's grandkid's b-day party, but is MIA when the world goes to hell? If Hydra was Sheild, why the FUCK did they create the Avengers at all? Movie doesn't seem so grand now, does it? I swear, if Marvel was put under the same microscope as DC films seem to be, Marvel would get totally destroyed.

Excel, people tend to go easier on films that are enjoyable, even if they're not masterpieces. sucking the fun out of a movie does nothing to help unless the film is really good otherwise.

No post credits for the screenings, no. But that is not a guarantee there is no post credits when it's released

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I was really surprised by how that was Aquamans only scene. He has all these figures and toys for the film and essentially it's just WW watching him on a computer lol
Did anyone catch what the Flash was saying to Bruce in his nightmare?

Did anyone catch what the Flash was saying to Bruce in his nightmare? Right?! I for sure thought we'd get an actual scene from Aquaman, but I was fine with what they did. That whole scene, while really not bringing much to the story, gave me chills. THE FLASH! AQUAMAN! CYBORG!
I'm going to really try to listen tomorrow night. He said something about "him" being who he thinks he is. And that Lois is the key? I assume he's referring to Lex and maybe the bigger threat Lex was alluding to.

Why does Bruce Wayne have prophetic dreams/visions?

Best scene in the movie was the build up to the explosion in the courtroom. Really stellar scene.

No, I do not. Why would he have a dream about a giant Bat in his mother's grave?

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
That's called a nightmare. Other dreams clearly refer to Darkseid and his minions or randomly have The Flash in them.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
So because his other nightmare is more specific, despite the clear symbolism, that makes it not a nightmare?
And, again, you don't know that the Flash sequence is a dream. It could very well be The Flash traveling through dimensions. Because that's what he does.
