Re: Les Misérables (2012)
Y'all Les Mis is about dreaming dreams and hearing people sing and one day more and such. Don't fight. Also, it's Christmastime.
thx

Re: Les Misérables (2012)
As I have no interest in this movie whatsoever, here is my American friend's opinion, she saw it on Christmas Day: Quote: If you love musical drama this is a must see movie!!! The most amazing acting I have seen in a really long time. The music is so moving. Hugh Jackman gave the best performance ever!! I cried at the ending! My only complaint was the fast camera shots that made me look away for a second. The closeups of the actors was sometimes too real, if you will! I could see their pores and bumps..haha! The closeups, however, contributed to a very real experience of emotion. A

The only person to review this film on page 2 so far is my idiot friend. That tells us a lot about the other crap that's being posted.

Not your pal -- and it's irrelevant because I know damn well it's Xmas (why else is my stomach grumbling from shitty chinese) and chose to call you out anyway, because I'm not the only one that feels your reviews seem douchey.

Re: Les Misérables (2012)
His reviews are brilliant. What are you talking about, torrino? He's the only one around here that reviews a movie correctly; with objectivity and an actual knowledge of film. He doesn't get involved in fanboyism and uses respectable langauge and reasonable arguments to form such reviews.
torrino sounds jealous or hurt by David's Les Mis review. Either way, his behaviour is infantile.

Re: Les Misérables (2012)
David wrote: This is a long film and a bad film, and it does not deserve a single Oscar nomination. The nonstop singing becomes, in my estimation, absolute torture. There are a few choice cuts--"Do You Hear the People Sing?," "I Dreamed a Dream," "One Day More"--but most of the 50 or so songs are generic and blend together to form a gigantic, one-note bore. The decision to have the stars sing live on set is an interesting experiment, but there is still a sense each performance exists on its own, over-the-top, Oscar-if-you-please plane rather than cohering into a single cast. Director Tom Hooper's established style, a strange blend of extreme closeups, hand-held camera, and unusual framing, denies the audience spectacle (locations and sets are almost never glimpsed in full) without creating the intended intimate sensation.
D Yay!!
