Re: Quantum of Solace
I loved Casino Royale to death so this was a disapointment for me too. My biggest complaint is propably how they edited the action-sequences, it was unbearable. Why do the filmmakers don't want us to see what's going on when there's some action? I don't get it, really. I almost wished sometimes the action would stop cause of the fucking editing.
Besides that, the film was very entertaining and if CR wouldn't have been SO good I could have loved/reeeeally liked it. Craig was easily the best thing (the scene with the motorcycle driver was awesome) about the movie, but the bond girls were rather weak. While Olga Kurylenko is a breathtakingly beautiful women, she didn't came close to Eva Green.
After my disapointment settles down I hopefully will like the movie much more after a second viewing so this grade is probably not final yet. B+

So, how is Bond supposed to be, actually? Bond is supposed to be good looking and charming enough to make girls drop their panties for him within a minute of meeting him. Too many people who applaud Casino Royale have no idea what Bond is supposed to be like. Craig definitely aint it. In fact, Brosnan in Goldeneye is closer to Bond in the novels than Craig is. He's just a pumped up action guy with none of Bond's distinguishing traits. Casino Royale was very blah, and it looks like QOS is even worse. Thanks for ruining the Bond series, Eon Productions! 1. Sean Connery 2. Pierce Brosnan 3. Roger Moore 4. Timothy Dalton 5. George Lazenby 6. Daniel Craig

Re: Quantum of Solace
There was no plot. Quantum? What Quantum? Bond was seen running around doing and achieving nothing. Greene had to be the worst villain ever. I mean, what did he really want? Why was he so powerful but at the same time so weak? No protection? Why was Quantum supposed to be everywhere when they were nowhere? Useless screenwriting and bad direction. Craig did decently with what he was given, get back the Royale crew. Actually I just checked and they had the same screenwriters I wonder how they screwed up so badly this time round. Holes everywhere, a story which had no point. This seemed like Babylon AD without a point from start to finish.

So far every review here has been shitty. Like... horribly written and thought out.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up, though I wouldn't be quite as harsh Completely disjointed parts, the characters are really lacking and the story is superficial. It's watchable, but nothing great. It doesn't feel like a complete movie.

Re: Quantum of Solace
Oh and might I mention that the pacing is terrible as well? I thought it had been over 2 hours halfway through the movie. The action is incessant and unnecessary at times. There was no climax either just a jumble of events. The ending scene was horrible. And to the Chip fellow that's an immature thing to say. How old are you? You speak like a 7 year old.

Re: Quantum of Solace
Why not, it worked out great for Superman Returns... It's not Bond, though, so maybe generic action guy with a baby in tow would make for an interesting dynamic.

Re: Quantum of Solace
I must be in the minority because I was satisfied. Was it better than Casino Royale? No, not even close. But then again Martin Campbell> Marc Forster. Most of its flaws are common with other Bond movies. People will likely be let down because of how good CR was, but QOS is still in the upper tier of Bond movies. It just had the impossible task of coming out after CR.

While it didn't bother me much, it DID feel pretty long for it's short running time. A girlfriend of mine saw it yesterday and thought it was over 3 hours long.

Well, there's Lee Tamahori but he's a Kiwi which is Brit enough. Lol, Martin Campbell is a Kiwi as well.
