I cannot believe Magnus is actually defending Batman's motivation change due to Clark's mother's name. That is the single most stupid deus ex machina in years.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Superman's "wah, on my world" "Nobod can stay good in the world", "its from my world" evolution to "YOU are my world" before he dies had all the chicks melting in both screenings.
Their romance works flawlessly. Both seem so inherently wholesome.

It makes Bruce stopping viewing him through a Trump esque "Illegal alien must go" lens and see him as an equal petrified for the life of his Mother; BW lost his own Mother is now able to identify with him and view him a normal person.

It humanized Superman for him. The whole movie he sees Superman as a alien and a threat and never as a human. When he sees Superman has love for his mother and is trying to save her, it breaks him because the dude basically became Batman so that no one would have to suffer the pain of losing a loved one (espically a parent) like he did. Yes it wasn't executed that well and they probably shouldn't of had the same name. But they needed a moment for Batman to see Superman as Clark Kent and the idea of using his mother is great. Detective Batman should be ashamed of himself. That saying, it fits in line with the rest of the film. When Bruce goes all spy, he's a fucking idiot. And how wasn't Martha found out after Zod attacked Smallville. A simple Google search should have given him all the info he needed in order to humanize Superman. It's odd we never really see him search for info on Supes. He's just interested in the boat (surprise!) and getting the kryptonite. Oh, and can we talk about how Bruce and Clark only have one scene together? COME ON!

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
This movie was fucking awesome.
Everything it does right - Performances, all the leads are fantastic with Gadot really shining - The look of the film actually feeling like a comic book coming to the screen even with all the edits and what not (comic books are jumpy too) - Fantastic fight scenes, the doomsday one is just amazing - Smokeshows all around
This is what the comic book genre needed and I can't wait to see where the series go from here. Keep Snyder on. Those few minutes of group action has me super pumped for Wonder Woman and Justice League. The Flash cameo is also perfect.
Perhaps my favorite comic book film ever, have to give it a rewatch this weekend to solidify.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Snyder does compose very striking, very comic-indebted images (without being too on-the-nose and alienating people the way Ang Lee did when tried to replicate actual panels). This is a fun quality which sets Snyder apart from more respected directors who've played in the superhero sandbox, such as Christopher Nolan and Bryan Singer. I enjoy his style. His vision of the murder of the Wayne parents (after watching Excalibur!) is gorgeous, even if we've seen this scenario play out too many times for it have an enormous emotional impact.
I love the bit when Batman is revealed behind the young policeman.
