Last Showgirl has built a fair bit of buzz and I think the public has been quietly embracing Pam's comeback that it could definitely surprise.

No one cares about Den of Thieves but it might benefit from the lack of movies for adult men.

The Brutalist has some hype now as it has surpassed Anora as the oscar frontrunner. How many people will be willing to give it a try though?

That's just not true. The first made $45 million, and has done very well since on streaming. There's a market there for it.

Empire is saying high teens of $20s for Den of Thieves 2 so looking positive for it.

Just saw an ad on hulu that said "don't miss ... the twist." I can't imagine someone would be advertising a twist ending if they were all that confident in the film's performance.

Also ... doesn't look like any of the theaters around me are getting The Brutalist. I thought it was going wide this weekend?

Also also ... why is Better Man even getting an American release? The only thing we know about Robbie Williams is the music video for Rock Your Body and no American ever said "I bet thatd be better if he was a monkey."

The first Den of Thieves was a surprise gem of a film. One of the best films of 2018. I wouldn't be surprised by a break out.

Rock DJ?

I didn't realise he was so anonymous in the US. He was quite big here and obviously in the UK.

That said he is way past his prime which was the early 00s. He had some ripper singles i still love - Feel, Come Undone, Something Beautiful and Love Supreme (with that great late 60s F1 music video).

I don't think Den of Thieves is going to have a John Wick type of explosion, but maybe his "has fallen" franchise of just consistency;

I think it’s only going semi wide like 600 theaters

There are quite a few not-so-great holds.

Fires in LA area and icy conditions in Dallas/Atlanta etc has resulted in 86 theater closures. So the numbers are underwhelming.

The movies in 3rd, 4th and 5th all dropped 47% this weekend. Somewhere on the chart, Homestead did as well.

Atlanta closing shit at every little bit of snow is funny to northern states.

Unfortunately, for Northern States, there is nothing worth seeing and our theaters were just as dead.
