The annual gap for 2024 vs 2023 went from about -20% down to -13% now and we've made it past the $1B mark.

Sort of like the impact Barbenheimer managed to have to get some level of momentum going at the box office. It's really nice that One Love is still holding well enough that it's headed for $100M+!

Just needs a 3.32X multiplier and $17.2M away. Also cool that 2 of the top 7 theaters for Dune domestically were in Canada with Montreal #3, hometown of the director.

March and April were very strong for 2023 so will be interesting to see how this year compares. March 24 could win out but April will lag.

The exact same OW as Oppenheimer though tickets are probably 1-1.5% higher from July.

Going to be hard to not see the comparisons now. I don't think Dune will be able to reach Oppenheimer's $329M. There's a big dedicated fanbase here so I'll say a 3.2X multiplier would be a $264M total. Completely picking a number out of a hat though.

Dune doesn't have Barbenheimer to help boost it's boxoffice unfortunately

Matching Oppenheimer is very, very impressive. Lowest seems like $250m domestic and $600m WW and with a barren April legs should be really great.

It is a BOB-enheimer effect here. Except instead of $1.4B, Bob will maybe do $0.12B. Almost the same.

Empire is saying 7.25m for Monday. Really strong. Its presales for not just today but all the way to 2nd weekend are very strong.

Edit: Charlie is now saying 7.5m Monday. Phenomenal stuff.

Currently 6th on lettrbox and 11 on imdb. Obviously those will drop but shows that wom is phenominal.

This getting near Harry Potter/Fellowship/Transformers 1 levels (unadjusted) with a $280-$320M total would be amazing and truly deserving. Like it could not have happened to a more deserving property. Dune was the originator for so much stuff in sci-fi and fantasy over the last 60 years. Now finally it joins the ranks of those other franchises that were turned into global blockbusters and are etched in pop culture history.

Empire saying $8.1M for Dune's Tuesday. $97.9M total for a great 5 day start.

Going to take it with a grain of salt but with Spring break and Easter in 3 weeks it could make some serious money. Lots of pressure on The Sound of Freedom team to show that it wasn't a fluke so that type of showing would be a huge help for the box office on top of KFP4 and Dune2.

Cabrini is going to be a success. Have been saying it for a while. How much if those pre-sales will be OW will be interesting. I'm thinking an $18-22m OW to start.
