marvel execs sleep on mountains of money and have diluted the brand into oblivion.

Gunn's Superman better look and feel different than typical marvel shit

This was posted by someone with access to comscore.

Quote:

Latest Comscore circuit reported weekend grosses for Thanksgiving and The Marvels are 9.77M and 9.71M. Disney could end up playing some games, not only to keep The Marvels in the top 3, but also to keep its actuals at the estimated 10.2M and avoid being under Morbius's 2nd weekend. A 500k bump from circuit reported to actuals is a tall order here, though.

What's crazy is if Dune stayed and did well... would Marvels and Hunger Games have done worse? I feel like the #s would have been similar still, but we would blame Dune if it was a huge hit. Both Marvels and Hunger Games got the big fans but probably less of the casual fan or general audience...

Yeah Dune had an open playing field and would've cleaned up. Damn strike.

With actuals, Marvels is #25 worst second weekend drop of all time. #3 for $10M+ openers behind a pair of horror movies. Guess that's fitting since MCU/Disney feel they are in a horror movie when they saw the OW numbers and second weekend drop.

Dipped below Morbius but got a $10M+ second weekend. I don't think there's any room here to "save face" unless it manages a Thanksgiving miracle.

Needs a 2.488X multiplier for the rest of its run to pull $80M. With Thanksgiving could slide past but sad that a movie that did $10M+ this weekend may not be able to get another $15M going into one of the most lucrative weekends of the year.
