Agreed, i'm feeling a bit of buzz about this and hope it breaks out.

The current safe projections are between $25-$35m for the 5-day. I'm thinking more like $35-40m for the 5-day. I hope anyway.

The Guardian gave it five stars so yeah I'm sensing a breakout. No Dune and Killers of the Flower Moon underperforming means the tasteful adult crowd is underserved. $35-40M 5-day sounds about right.

From early reviews it sounds like the movie is funnier than expected but it tries impossible task of fitting in the entire arc through exile and Waterloo. Of course this is Ridley so he probably has 4 hour director cut coming.

Apparently Ridley has confirmed a 4.5 hour cut he'll eventually release!!

I'm excited by the reviews. Sure they are mostly positive (not all) but some interesting reviews to say the least.

Joaquin in full evil mode is going to go over well with audiences. It's the teaser for Joker 2 which crazily came out 4 years ago. Along with Gladiator, he seems well suited for these roles.

Full evil mode? All I see from trailers is Joaquin looking bored. There's no acting on display. He honestly looks like he doesn't want to be there, and it's a shame because every single thing else about the film is right up my alley.

Presales wise its not even in Flower Moon territory. it will be more WOM driven. I am not seeing 40m over 5 days.

I read or heard somewhere that at one point during early filming he said to Ridley - "I don't know what to do with this character" - which is concerning and yes perhaps shows a little in the trailer.

I still want to see it through.

Was a bit disappointing. It's thematic a bit all over the place. I don't expect it to leg out much after Thanksgiving so may be lucky to get to $100M imo. KOTFM and Napoleon don't look to cut it for Apple.

Napoleon and Oppenheimer as a contrast just make Oppenheimer look exceptionally better. It was a much more enjoyable moviegoing experience. Napoleon was alright but no need to see it again type feeling.

Showing was sold out so may have enough interest but a big let down and forgetable.

I'd say something like $21M (3day)/$70M without seeing any preview numbers or anything as an updated guess.
