Marvels - 7/50m

Weird thing is with Veterans day off on Friday, it should have been doing lot stronger on Friday but for some reason there is little interest in this project. its MCU's strength that absolute bomb will also open > 50m. DCEU had 25m openers.

Assuming it has bad legs the Marvels end total is going to look so shockingly low

Presales are a conspiracy part 2 (nevermind that they were right about Freddy.)

The lower the better IMO. Will show Marvel that they gotta make stuff worth seeing rather than rest on their laurels.

Yeesh if this does less than 50m. I'm gonna go with 53m for now.

I’ll say it still manages 60 mil but collapses next week.

Deadline: Currently presales for The Marvels are just north of $5M which are on par with Warner Bros/DC’s The Flash, that movie flaming out with a $55M start stateside. Yikes. The worry is that if previews, which start Thursday at 3PM, come in north of $6M, The Marvels’ weekend will crater to $40M+.

140m WW OW is what deadline is saying.

Reviews are 54% 5.8 avg rating and it'll probably only go down.

This is gonna be a disaster.

I read in the Variety article that the director just stopped working from the movie 3-4 months early. :funny:

Get the popcorn out!

Great news for The Holdovers, Napolean, Wonka, Ferrari etc. They need the stars out there promoting.

Bummer that The Bikeriders got moved to 2024.

Too late for Marvels.

It's actually only gone up. Calling it a disaster is a bit OTT. Sounds perfectly enjoyable.

It’s defying historical precedent for MCu films which usually drop 20% from Their opening score.

its looking like missing 7m previews at this point. I wonder if Disney will round it up. True Friday is looking sub 15m as well. While Reviews are not a disaster, box office is looking like it.

Is $15M true Friday enough for this to get to $100M total? Thanksgiving 3rd weekend hold may help it save face a bit.
