AMC already has a waitlist system up on their website to meet the traffic demand for tickets. Tickets have barely been on sale for an hour and the premium screens in my area that got it are 60-80% full. This thing is gonna be massive.

Every showing will be sold out. There's no limit to how big the opening weekend could get. Exorcist should move up a week.

This will be one of the biggest opening weekends of all time. Nobody should be doubting Taylor at this point in her career. There are STILL queues to get tickets, hours later. It will be massive. Will not be surprised if this club succeeds by opening weekend.

The comparison point for this is probably the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert movie in 2008, another blockbuster tour that became a blockbuster movie because there was so much excess demand. It was released in 683 theaters on Super Bowl weekend, and made $31.1M for a $45,561 PTA. I don't know if they surcharged tickets, but the adult tickets for this will all be $19.89 and $13.13 for children, plus the usual surcharges still for premium screens...not sure when we'll get a theater count, but this could end up coming for Endgame's PTA record for a wide release.

Demand for the tour was insane so it'll be interesting to see how muxh this will fulfill demand.

Early sales are looking like NWH level event !!! At AMC all ticket buyers are queued like how it was for mega blockbusters. I am thinking 150m+ OW at this point.

Its over 7m now as Imax/PLF tickets cost even more than that. Plus based on other reports at BOT, its doing well everywhere. Bible belt region is as strong as coasts. Canada is also incredibly strong. They need to expand their shows soon as we will run out of tickets. I am thinking 200m OW is in play :-)

Canada has no concerts outside of Toronto so feel like this will do especially well in places that are far, far from where she is touring. Not shocked to see Canada is super strong because of the limited concert showings.

International here is going to be interesting. She's been crashing ticketing sites worldwide from concert demand. The concerts apparently are pushing $1.4B+ in revenue. Can this movie be a global hit and how high will it go?

Is this being distributed by a studio or by Taylor's team directly? Apparently it received clearance from SAG (despite Taylor not being a SAG member?) so she is free to promote this as much as she wants. I assume they were very sensitive to the situation in Hollywood and wanted to be able to release this without affecting Taylor's future standing in Hwood. She's been trying unsuccessfully to break into that world via small roles in films going way back to 'Valentine's Day' in 2010. Perhaps if this makes a shit ton of money it will finally convince studios to cast her in something major.

But not someone saying $200 million OW (!?!?!??). Seriously?? Or could we just be seeing extreme pre-sales because of her intense fanbase but it will then go way down because it's not as appealing to the general public? I just don't see how this suddenly makes 6x more than any other concert film on OW.

AMC Theaters is the distributor actually, although they are taking it to other chains since obviously there's plenty of money to be shared, lol. Since this is basically a documentary I don't know if SAG rules would apply? Not that she needs to do any promo to sell it.

Yeah looking at previous concert films is useless. The Hannah Montana concert opened extremely well in less than 1,000 theaters so with this being at over $10m presales and premium screens... opening will be massive. Fans who went to the actual concert will likely go and fans who couldn't get tickets, along with the curiosity viven this tour had so much hype. October opening record is pretty much a given.
