So with the writers strike over, SNL is expected to come back in the first 2 weeks of October. They will be going heavy early on with non-actors while that strike goes on. I think the possibility is near 100% that SNL is actively trying to get Taylor to host. She last hosted in 2009 but is at a whole other level of stardom now. If she does open it (ideally during the weekend Eras opens), pretty sure it will be among the top 3 most watched SNL episodes of all time.

She will be box office queen, head of the TV ratings, top of the Billboard charts, and with the top music tour all at the same time. She might as well release a book at the same time but maybe she'll start a Taylor's book club and put Britney's on there since its likely going to be #1 around then anyhow.

Taylor went to a football game yesterday and it became The News. Definitely an unprecedented level of popularity.

Though I have noticed that the showings of this beyond the first two weeks are pretty empty. I might cancel my opening day sold out Liemax show (which may or may not have people singing along ... ugh) in favor of trying to get a theater all for myself (and maybe some friends if they promise to be good) later on.

I have no doubts this could become the most frontloaded $100M+ OW movie of all time.

The Hannah Montana movie made over 50% of its box office in its first 4 days. There's an event status here where people will want to see it early. Even a $150M/$250M run wouldn't be shocking.

I think having no weekdays will pretty much ensure that it'll be hars to get a 2x multiplier

The Beyonce trailer makes it seem more like a doc.. but maybe that's just the intro of it idk. I went to her birthday show, which was excellent, but I may go check out the movie too. Will be very interesting to see how both films do.

Renaissance presales are off to uber strong start. Considering this has even longer window than Eras, its impressive. That said its no where in the ballpark of Eras and thursday show count is less than half of Eras which has a 6Pm start as well.

AMC is like 31% of initial start. But smaller start means greater potential of growth over its presale period. Eras hit like 75% of release day capacity after just 1 day of presales !!! That means very limited availability of good seats or see it really late. Renaissance should not have that issue though its release is also smaller. Its opening on a thursday like most movies but shows are starting at 7PM(while Eras starts at 6PM on Friday). So far its having less than half of Eras OD shows. That will grow close to release. Its looking like 3rd or 4th best start behind Eras, Quantumania and Guardians 3 at least at AMC. But its doing way worse in red belt and other chains in smaller locations for obvious reasons.

Based on the start and that it has more than 3 day OW, I am definitely thinking 50m+ OW. Its ATP is even higher than Eras as there are no child ticket discount and regular digital start at $22. So far AMC has like $25 ATP !!!

at big theaters in NYC, Imax tickets cost $30 while Dolby costs $32. San francisco its $28 and $30 respectively. !!! As I posted above no discounts for anything. Eras discounted significantly for children tickets.

$50M+ would still be awfully good for a concert movie on its own if it wasn't going to get compared to Swift's box office. Only 1 movie has ever opened to more than $27M in the first 7 days of Dec, Ocean's 11 in 2001 with $38.1M.

50/100 is what I'd expect from Beyonce. It'll simultaneously benefit from Taylor creating demand for concert films and be seen as a disappointment because Eras does so much better.

It'll be interesting to see how big that opening weekend is. If this gets to 700m+ WW and doesn't even scren weekdays that'd be craaaazy
