Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
Freddy's 5day is so impressive. It likely will be at $100M+ going into weekend 2. Its Friday hold will pretty much tell us where it ends up but already 4.5X its bundget in just 5 days.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
Wow at Marvels likely not reaching half of the lowest prediction in this thread. Biggest drops of all time week 2 for $10M+ OW 1 Friday the 13th $40,570,365 -80.4% $7,942,472 2 Halloween Ends $40,050,355 -80% $8,000,510 3 All Eyez on Me $26,435,354 -78% $5,806,975 4 Marvels $46,110,859 -77.9% $10,200,000
Strong chance Marvels will drop worse to rise to #3. Blue Beetle getting within $10M of Marvels box office despite getting dumped in second half of August is pretty shocking. It needed a $9.04M weekend to have the all time worst for $10M openings so will have to settle for #3 in all likelihood.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
Well we still need a winner other than Swift and Freddy's, The Marvels and Aquaman are going to combine for like 300 million less than they would’ve if all was right with superhero movies, so something has to fill the void. Illumination strikes again?

Did Aquaman start better or worse than The Marvels, Keyzer?

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
Just saw Napoleon and it definitely looks hard pressed IMO getting much past $100M. A shame but an interesting but strange biopic that plays like a comedy at times. Was a sold out showing and some of the audience clapped at the end.
Nervous for Ghostbusters as well. Some of the audience laughed in a bad way at the trailer and heard murmors of how bad it looks. It's possible the goofy Paul Rudd Ant Man halo might not feel as fresh anymore.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
Any chance one of the anime films has a random breakout? Boy and the Heron has some hype and Godzilla Minus One is a great title.

Yes, hopefully. Posted somewhere that Japanese travel bookings increased 1300% between 2019 and 2023 so hoping for one of those two to break out as anime has become more mainstream.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
#1 may actually end up being Taylor Swift. None of the December films are a surefire thing. I don't think Aquaman is going to truly bomb ala Marvels or Flash but it could very well fall short of the $180M ish Eras Tour will end up doing. Nothing else that month screams huge breakout. Maybe Wonka but it also feels like a prequel no one really asked for.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour
Marvels Hunger Games
Napoleon
Wish Wonka Aquaman
The Exorcist: Believer
Killers of the Flower Moon Migration Other
Here's what's left. HG likely won't be able to leg out to Eras so likely out. Wonka, Aquman and Migration or other are the only things left.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
The Exorcist: Believer being in the list is kinda funny now.
But yeah, Migration will win these easily.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
No rerelease for Eras after all as it hits itunes on December 13 with the bonus songs added back in. So $180M is the mark to beat.

last time no december release went over 200m was 2010. Looking like the same will happen this december unless Wonka can pull off a miracle

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
This could be rough for a while as the superheroes have fallen out and we can’t get to a point of consistent 20 million openers to replace them as nobody knows what genre they should be and even if they did there would be some time needed to make them. Dune 2’s release date is great as by March 1st people will be begging for an event release.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
Social media reactions for Wonka are out and it seems another rave for Paul King. This is going to easily win Q4 for sure.

Re: Predict The Top 10 Fall Films
It really seems like it's getting incredibly positive reception so far.
I think there is a lot of goodwill built up from Paddington 1 and 2 for being some of the best family films of the past decade. They weren't the most commercially successful but the quality feels like it is there and WB isn't just planting.
Between Aquaman and Wonka at least we know WB is likely going to win Q4. They won the summer as well with Barbie so just strange how divergent their hits and misses are.
