It's not enough close. The Marvels is 37.8% below the worst attended MCU movie to date, Ant Man and The Eternals.

Wakanda's performance and retention looks even better 1 year out. A $192M adjusted OW vs the original's $247M!

Damn, 60% of Eternals in a pandemic, that movie would probably open to 25 mil in late 2023 with how things are going for superheroes right now.

MCU has gone from a $434M OW adjusted to $47M in 4.5 years.

In the end - good CBM films people want to see will still do big business (Spidey/DP3 etc).

Audiences just won't tolerate mediocre product. The 2017-2019 peak period where anything MCU was massive is well and truly over.

Question is : Will Marvel still go ahead with Thunderbolts? Or will it get canned?
