Just announced as his final film which is rumoured to be about influential film critic Pauline Kael.

Huh I haven't heard that Gaga rumor. That would be something.

Curious how this will be. Kinda wish he did a big epic film for his last but seems like this could be like Once...

Between this or The Joker 2, and following A Star Is Born and Gucci, Gaga is going to probably have a non-musical Oscar sometime this decade.

Kill Bill 3 will be his real final film.

This is a great role for Gaga. Both will be huge oscar contenders.

It would be very Tarantino-esque to make The Movie Critic (his eleventh movie) then make a third Kill Bill and name it "Vol. 3" so it's (in his mind) not another movie it's just one long Kill Bill movie shot over 25 years, lol....and then he can still claim to have only made ten movies (when it actual fact he's made at least twelve).

Don’t forget love birds in bondage and my best friend’s birthday.

Post subject:  Re: Quentin Tarantino's The Movie Critic

I'd never heard of those. But it seems My Best Friend's Birthday is an amateur production and it's unfinished. I cannot find much about Love Birds in Bondage. I guess that counts.

He's basically on for fifteen films, not ten. His ten-film aim has been subjected to inflation, lol

It’s unfinished because Quentin cut 34 minutes out of it. I think spending 6 years of life on shit should count

This was a bounced a while back and the protagonist is now expected to be male.

I’ve heard QT will remake scenes from other films from the 70s within this film.

It was reported that WB spoke to Tom Cruise about The Movie Critic. Very intriguing to see Quenton and Tom on a movie...he's looking at his post big actioner stage and looking to work with the acclaimed directors (ie win an Oscar).

I'd love to see QT-Cruise!

He revitalitzed John Travolta's career, and got Brad Pitt an Oscar as well as his success with Oscar nods for other big stars so there is a playbook for Cruise to get at least a nod!

If the role is a supporting one, he has a real shot

Post subject:  Re: Quentin Tarantino's The Movie Critic

He chose to star in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s next movie first. His first English major studio movie since The Revenant. It would still be really cool for him to be in QT's movie as well.

Considering that was the director that got Leo his Oscar and the closest Michael Keaton has ever got to one, there's a great chance for an Oscar nod and I'd expect a win. Will Smith got his lifetime achievement win and botched his chance but Tom Cruise has stayed relevant for almost 40 years and I can't see him missing a nod unless the movie really stinks.

Considering its starting development now, maybe late 2025 release? That would be fitting because if he wins the Oscar, that would be the 40th anniversary of TG (1986).

I’m glad this kinda sounded like a lame final movie. I am hoping for a genre bending epic to be his finale

It needs to be something violent

This would have been good if it wasn't his final film. But agree - as a final film would rather see something else.

I bet that's the reason he dropped out. He knows his legacy and final film must be quintessentially Tarantino.
