apparently it was a sequel to Hollywood focusing on Brad Pitt's Character in the 70s and Tarantino lost focus on the script as it had morphed too much. That's the problem when you give yourself a "this is it" ultimatum sometimes, he probably has a lot of things in his head he's been saving for his final film and they aren't coming together.
