Came onto tracking a few weeks ago with a potential sub 40m OW.

But deadline reports today 68-70m tracking! I’m not sold.

Which is correct?

If it opened sub 40m, no way.

I see this bombing hard in America with a total around D&D. Way too much competition. The Flash will kill it week 2.

The last main entry only grossed 126m with less competition. Just Wonder Woman that was weeks old and Baby Driver in its second week.

its going to be touch and go. Presales have been really meh. This is another movie that is going to be buried in a busy Jun/July schedule.

If Fast X only does high 50s, then I'll concede this won't do $100 million. But until then I think it's going to make it.

The one thing I noticed about Beasts is there's no star this time. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but it's worth noting. I feel a movie still needs to hang its hat on a star name for the most part. But what annoys me most is the marketing's not going for the Unicron being a threat-to-the-human-race angle, which I think would be better for the film. Instead it's going for the more child-friendly look-at-the-Maximals-aren't-they-cool one.

Yeah this needed a more recognizable cast, even if they're limiting their options by only looking for minority actors, there's got to be better options than the In the Heights dude like throwing John Boyega a bone or JDW.

That new tracking sounds completely off. Like Paramount paid for it to generate some buzz. If it makes $100m total domestic it’s a minor win.

They need to do some dumb crossover like Transformers vs Power Rangers.

So campy like an Alien Vs Predator type thing. Both can't really support movie franchises but let's let a flood of 80s and 90s show characters fighting with each other. Can't possibly be as bad as some of the movies they've released.

This movie should be called Transformers: Beast Mode.

It should also be coming out July 4th weekend 2027.

I'd be surprised if it made more than $45M opening weekend. I'd guess closer to $35M.
