The actual will be under $30M. Most movies had low multipliers since Friday was boosted by spring break.

Fine drop for Scream, will past the previous one soon which is great.

65's drop actually doesn't seem that bad. Think Adam Driver could probably open a good movie well lol

Ant-Man will pass 2x multiplier but still pathetic total.

Cocaine Bear's performance has been nice to see for what it is.

EEAAO having a 1m+ weekend a year after its run is nice to see.

Its second weekend isn't encouraging, but I hope it can.

It would have to have really shit legs for the rest of its run to not hit 100m now.

Post subject:  Re: Shazam weekend thread

If Scream has average legs from here it does over 110m.

This hold is fine. The 5th fell 59%. This is in line.

D&D did very well with its early shows. Thinking 800-900K but it was all standard shows and that too at Matinee prices. So it did sell tons of tickets and that will build WOM for its big release. There are 3 more early shows on 22/26/29th of this month as well :-)

$30.1m opening seems to be the actual #.

30.1x2.4 multiplier to $72.2m. Think that's about what it does unless it plays fine throughout April.

I could see like a 2.6-2.7 since it’s better received and more family friendly than Black Adam

Better received how? They have the same cinemascore, similar posttraks, identical verified rt. By all means this film was received exactly like black adam.

I was just going off the 53 vs 39 RT score

Shazam actual: $30,111,158
Yeah, right! :funny:

Other movies:

Violent Night $11,315 +162% $50,027,620.
Who's watching this now to drive up the weekend 162%?

Feels like Moving On was dumped.

Week 52 for EEAAO. If this were the pre-streaming days after such a dominant Oscar night 15 years ago feel like this could have done a $10M post Oscars weekend but still a great run!

Puss spends his 13th and perhaps last weekend in the top 10. Still an amazing hold of 12% considering how strong spring break dailies were for it. Mario in 19 days so at least Puss looks like it can probably finish up with about $190M. Off of a $12.4M 3day opening that's nearly a 15X multiplier.

Avatar is just days away from #7 on the all time list. $678,815,482 tally domestic to get there so looking like just under $690M in total.

JR is at $45.5M and had only a 32% drop. With Easter coming up, could have a great bump up then and looks like it can do $60M+.

Scream VI looks solid for $100M. Creed still on track for $160M+.

It’s mind boggling this opened below Morbius. Even more mind boggling is it’s not even close

I'm now slightly saddened by this poor performance because it's actually a fun film with great visuals. I enjoyed it. Certainly, better than say Morbious, Black Adam, Eternals, Thor Love and Thunder, Multiverse of Madness etc. And more entertaining than the sombre Wakanda Forever.

I think Shazam will probably do very well on HBO Max but that honestly doesn't matter now. Really didn't deserve to do this bad.

That's critics though, after the film is out WOM largely depends on audiences.

Shazam Monday $1,691,328

That's quite bad isn't it? CB made about the same despite a much smaller opening.

Scream VI made $1,425,910 so could be at about $82M going into its third weekend.

Post subject:  Re: Shazam weekend thread

The weekend was artificially boosted to keep it over $30M so a huge Monday drop makes sense.

Wed #'s:

Shazam! $1,400,000 $35,603,522
Scream VI $1,312,816 $80,389,027

Shazam is on the cusp of getting outgrossed daily by Scream. :grrr:

Can Scream beat it on Thursday? Looking good as it will be at $90M by the end of the weekend so we're not going to deal with a Meg situation of missing $100M.

Shazam will be losing just about all of its premium screens to John Wick today, so yeah I would be at all surprised if Scream retakes #1

Scream VI $1,103,683 $81,492,710 14
Shazam! Fury of the Gods $1,002,127 $36,606,765

Scream is now ahead of Shazam in the dailies. Go Scream!
