I'm not really feeling it'll do the numbers I thought it would. It should do more than Transformers though... $67m.

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Sadly I'm getting a Blade Runner 2 type feeling here. Was supposed to do a lot more due to the fanbase coming than it did. Movies that are far too long (2.5 hrs+), and maybe should have come out sooner. Despite Ford being IJ, I feel like he should reprise his role in AFO. Younger generations I feel would show up for that a lot more than they would for IJ now.

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
An Air Force One sequel would be pretty hype in this exact spot.
I'm still not counting out Indy though. Just like with Flash, I'll believe the low numbers only when I see them.

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Indiana Jones 4 adjusts to well over 150m OW if you account for the fact it opened on Thursday.
Less than half of that would be just unbelievable

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
I predicted 62m in the monthly game after looking at tepid presales. I am probably smidgen high. Analysis of all the presales seen today points to median OW of 55m. !!! https://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topi ... nt=4531860

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Anyone know the budget for Ruby Gillman? Doesn't seem widely available, and the one source I did see was saying $180 million... It's the only one though, so not sure if it's reliable.

Universal has DreamWorks Animation’s $70M movie Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, it might bomb and not top $30m domestic. hoping it doesn't

I think it can open over 10m, and finish with like 40m

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Well, way better than that $180m I saw. Still, this isn't likely to do much DOM or OS and is going to almost certainly lose money. It's such a weird project for DreamWorks. The animation looks 10/15 years outdated, and the marketing that I've seen seems to focus on trying to benefit from mocking The Little Mermaid rather than trying to sell itself.

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Yeah it doesn't fit the new animation style we saw in Last Wish and Bad Guys. I bet Teenage Kracken has been in development since right after the opening weekend of Kung Fu Panda. Another waste of a movie that is gonna make Spiderverse drop harder than it ought to.

Ruby Gillman doesn’t look cute or goofy enough for little kids, but too kiddie for older kids.

Hm... Dolby screening at my local theater for Indy looks kinda weak for Friday and the weekend. Kinda thinking this goes low. Oof.

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Is The Flash only going to be the second most disappointing film this summer?
If Indy opens somewhere between $50-70m which looks to be the range floating around, and its total either misses or barely hits the unadjusted 4/5-day OW of Crystal Skull... Major yikes.
Not seeing much good news OS either, so sub-$500m is looking likely at this stage.

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Yeah I'm feeling disaster here considering the brand and the upside if they had recast a new Indy and it went perfectly. Ford Indy is going out like MJ on the Wizards or Tom Brady's last season with the Bucs.

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Indy opening with less than the Flash would be something... so weird, the trailers have been strong to me.
July 8 weekend seems like another slow one but weeks after that will certainly be interesting.

If Indy disappoints it just boosts M:I's opening.

I am shocked if this does so poorly. I’d think a drop in admissions from KOTcs but not an as much as 2/3 drop

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Presales are ahead of Fast X and John Wick 4 according to Variety.
Should at least do 65m OW imo. And have a decent multiplier

Re: June 30-July 2nd Predictions
Ruby Gillman is coming along at the wrong time for Elemental. Just when it was overcoming the bad smell at Pixar, and now another CG-animated kids movie comes out.
It's good for Ruby, though. There's current appetite for a kids movie and it's going to take a slice of that. It looked like an also-ran to me, but it could carve out a decent gross with some nice summer weekdays.
