Looks like sub 10m for both, but thats a better number for Brahmastra than Barbarian, which really ought to be over 10m this weekend.

Interested to see how Barbarian holds in its run. Idk how reception was from my audience but personally I'm kinda puzzled by the praise lol

I think Barbarian will do double digits with that number. The movie Countdown from back in October 2019 did $515,000 in Thursday previews and opened to 9 Million. Unlike that movie Barbarian has great reviews. Audiences seem to be enjoying it too with a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Bullet Train is going to get very close to $100M. The movie is pretty good so I'm glad it overcame the initial poor reviews.

No Friday estimate for Everything Everywhere All at Once. Hopefully it'll still be tracked for the weekend and it's just that the Friday number is too small to report. It's so close to $70 million.

Bullet Train pipped Maverick to a better weekly drop. Interesting. Maybe some late legs will push it over $100 million, which is what the comparison with The Lost City has shown all along but I still couldn't see it. Gotta give it some credit. Nice run. Damn I'm loving these lengthy 80s and 90s-esque runs.

Disappointing opening for Barbarian considering the reviews. Hopefully it can have some good legs. I suppose its target should be to out-gross Beast's total, which will probably be something like $33 million.

As for the rest, the holdovers are all ticking over nicely. I might be difficult for The Rise of Gru to beat the first Minions. It needs another $6 million. Fingers crossed. Bullet Train is going to hit $100 million. It would be cool if it was the lowest grossing movie to reach the milestone (currently Die Hard with a Vengeance).

It already beat the first Minions. I think you’re thinking of Despicable Me 2

Barbarian went up. $10,543,948. Not bad at all. It would have done much worse if it had bad reviews. Might have decent legs until Smile comes out.

I'm still disappointed. Having it in the draft doesn't help. It'll have to have great legs for me to be pleased with its performance. Despite good reviews, audiences don't seem to be enjoying it. Its CinemaScore was pretty bad.

Even with a poor CS I think enough people will love it that it will drown out those who don't. Especially with reviews being great.

I really get the feeling Smile is going to be torn a new one by critics. There hasn't been a punching bag in a while, and Smile seems perfect for the slaughter.

It won't be at all. It looks like one that would get bad reviews but they're premiering it at Fantastic Fest and it has advance screenings the Tuesday of the week it releases. They are definitely confident in it. Was supposed to be a Paramount+ title but the reaction to it from test screenings made them change it to theatrical.

If you're not counting Don't Worry Darling I'm not sure what the next wide release movie with poor reviews will be. Probably Lyle Lyle Crocodile.

Well that's good news. I have Smile in the draft.

But, oh, bad news ... I also have Lyle.

Lyle is obviously trying to be the next Greatest Showman and should’ve opened near Christmas. Even if it has a great soundtrack I doubt it does more than 75m domestic.

It will end up being the next Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Clifford was on Paramount+. I think Lyle is theaters only so it has that in its favor.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see Lyle leg out to 100 Million simply because it's the first movie for kids since Super Pets and there won't be anything until Strange World almost two months later.
