Also, Jaws Imax re release probably will do between 1-2m just like ET

I think Top Gun will reclaim #1. Possibly Super Pets since that should see a slim decline.

The movies next weekend are duds. Honk For Jesus should do 1-2 Million but likely on the lower end of that.

I saw the trailer for Honk before a few movies this summer. It's produced by Will Packer so I was thinking black audiences may come out for it

Maybe but it doesn't look like it will have that much appeal and it's also streaming.

I feel like Amazon would make a bigger impact than peacock or paramount, since a lot of people already have it for the "free" shipping. If this was a full-blown religious movie than maybe people might want to congregate in theaters to see it. But, as is, I imagine anyone who wants to see it will just stream. No way it goes over $3M.

So..

We're back on the highway to the dangerzone. Top Gun will probably fall about 10-20% again, losing some of its imax screens to the rerelease of Jaws but gaining back the difference with a "one last time to see the movie of the summer" campaign.

Top Gun should win the weekend yes. Amazing on so many levels but would be the icing on the cake on the perfect Top Gun summer.

The weekend will also witness the biggest year on year decrease from 2021 - something that will be in play for the next two months with the exception of the BA weekend.

Unfortunately Spider-Man apparently did 1.7 Million on Friday. Looks like that will win the weekend.

If Box Office Mojo is to be believed, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero made $0 on Thursday, lol. There's just no gross for it, which highlights how the Friday estimates and daily actuals they get from distributors probably don't include a cumulative gross. That's all added up by Mojo, The Numbers, etc.

This is weird. Spidey was $6m for the 3-day and #1, now Mojo has changed it to $5.3m and #3, which means Top Gun: Maverick is #1 for the weekend, whether 3-day or 4-day :D
