Great holds all around for the most part. Crawdads with a 26% drop from last Friday. Top Gun down 14%. The Black Phone 31%.

Lucky for Super-Pets there are no kids movies coming out until October. That's going to be very leggy.

As long as it does not have a ruff multiplier, I think it will

I thought Nope would have a bad drop, below 60% is quite good.

$23M for Superpets. -58% for Nope. Thor passes $300M. Solid drops for everything else.

Does Maverick have $50M left in the tank after an $8M weekend? I think it'll make it.

Weird how Love and Thunder feels underwhelming despite how it will beat Ragnorak and both are easily bigger than 1 and 2 inflated.

Definitely a pretty good hold for Nope.

I shouldn't scoff at a 20% drop for Maverick but it is a little underwhelming. I don't know why it would hold better last weekend when Nope opened. This weekend was just an animated movie that didn't even do very well. Maybe it can match last weekend's hold when actuals are out. Next weekend the drop will probably be worse with Bullet Train. Should be smooth sailing after that though.

I had said release week maybe Crawdads would be this summer's The Notebook and be leggy and that seems to be happening. While obviously it won't match it adjusted for inflation that was at 43 Million after 3 weekends and Crawdads is at 53.5 Million. The Notebook ended up with 81 Million unadjusted and Crawdads will be able to get there too. I expect after next weekend it will be around 65.5 Million. Competition is very weak in August so I'm expecting some great holds.

See, I don't get this sentiment, and I said since it opened that it was doing well. I'm not sure what people were expecting. Perhaps they were wanting a mini-Avengers performance due to Thor, or perhaps they were expecting something on a par with Doctor Strange 2 (even though that was heavily influenced by No Way Home). I don't know. But, for me, it is a very good opening and a decent performance thereafter. Expectations screwed Love & Thunder in the hearts and minds of the box office analyst.
