Great start for Crawdads, although with how frontloaded these bestseller adaptations are (I forgot that Paper Towns went from $2M previews to $12.65M weekend, in *2014*), not sure where it'll land just yet. Regardless, with a $24M budget should easily break even and be another solid success for Sony.

A preview-to-weekend multiplier like The Bad Guys gets it to $10M+; a multiplier like Lightyear/Minions gets it to $5 million. With kids out of school, probably gonna be closer to the latter.
