The trailer for this looks intense. Star plus concept thriller should do well in late August. Thinking 20m+ opening and 70m+ total. |

This looks fun. I'm a sucker for these kinds of movies. Hopefully the trailer is attached to many showings of Top Gun this weekend. Also it's going to be with Jurassic World, The Black Phone and Nope. That will be some great placement. I think it will at least open to 17 and could reach 60. But 20+ Million won't surprise me either. |

Beast is part of my draft so I'm hoping it can do $100m, but I just do not see it. It feels cheap. I can imagine it's a film where, due to budgetary constraints, the "beast" isn't actually shown until the end. I feel it might let audiences down. The Grey springs to mind as a comparable title. Elba is probably about as popular as Neeson was back in 2011, too, and I'm not sure the hot climate for an August movie is any more box office friendly than Alaska is for a January one. So I feel it will also have similar total, something like $51m wouldn't surprise me. |
