I didn't join the group but do know that it is going to be a huge hit. Have known for a couple of years when so many people I know were upset it was delayed. The fact that it looks to be a good film will only help it - but more so in total gross. |

I can see this play well and with repeat viewings leading into July long weekend but still think its going to be a leggy run over a frontloaded one. |

I've been down on the movie's potential for a while (was assuming a $100M gross or so when it was scheduled for November last year), but pre-sales are indeed pretty strong already for being a non-superhero movie two weeks out (most of the Dolby and IMAX screenings Thursday/Friday are over half-full already!) so this does seem prepped to max out. Don't know if that means $300M+, but $200M+ is looking better and better. |

Looking at presales and trend of how its accelerating, I think its going to go for the Memorial weekend record at this point. 200m should be done by 2nd weekend for sure. I am expecting this to play very strong over summer considering Cruise has negotiated exclusive 88 day theatrical run. At this point I think this could beat Dr Strange 2. |
