Post Weekend Estimates (March 25-27)

First $30M+ opening for an original movie since 1917 and an original comedy since Girls Trip. Sandra's still got it.

Only the third movie of the last two years to get a PTA above $50,000 after Licorice Pizza and No Way Home. And early word-of-mouth is insane on this one - 8.9 on IMDB, 4.6 on Letterboxd, 97% on RT (unverified!!). This icould be a big smash for A24.

Congrats to Spidy for passing $800M! Crazy to think if no pandemic there could possibly have been more money on the table here.

Sing got to $160M+ as well.

Would have liked Lost City to do more but just shows starpower can still bring people to theaters. Promising for demos that were coming to theaters less the last 2 years. Paramount has now seen 3 #1 movies in the past 3 months.

Batman is solid but looks like a franchise rebuilder phase.

Seeing 4 weekends in a row now of $77M or more for the top 10. Good place to be in going into April and the summer. We only saw that happen for the first time last October 2021.

At first I read that as the year and I'm like "Did you mean since 2017? I think we've had big movies since the invention of film".

The fact that Bullock can anchor hits across so many genres over her career is the most impressive: Comedy, action, thriller, drama, romance, animation, scifi...

Probably if she wants to she could work like Ford into his 80s. 2 years away from 60 and feel like her starpower is just as strong as ever.

Everywhere sounds like it can be an all timer. Really excited for it.
