 Lost City previews
Lost City - 2.5m
Solid. Any opening around or above Free Guy is good.

 Re: Lost City previews
It has a great chance to match my 34m prediction with that.

 Re: Lost City previews
Topping Free Guy's preview number even without the extra days of previews is extremely promisng. $25M weekend is locked down, $30M+ very much in play for possibly the biggest opening for an original movie since 1917.

Sticking Romancing the Stone in a copy machine counts as original?

 Re: Lost City previews
Yeah by that logic Uncharted was more original (I'd say just as many people went not knowing it's based on a game)

Great to see adults coming back to the theater. Looking forward to seeing this tomorrow.

 Re: Lost City previews
There is nothing new under the sun. It's all about making things feel fresh, "this movie is like that other movie, therefore it is bad" is incredibly lazy film criticism.

These are all ripping off National Treasure who ripped off Indiana Jones who ripped off...
You get the idea. Hollywood has been making recycling hip since the 30s!
On Lost City, good start!

 Re: Lost City previews
The romance author thing is pretty specific, but as a whole Lost City's genre is much older than Romancing the Stone, the romance adventure thing like this and Jungle Cruise go WAY back, it's cool to see it revitalized.
I'd rather have Lost City at least be somewhat original, than them calling it Romancing the Stone with two new actors in Bullock and Tatum but the old versions of Douglas, Turner and DeVito have supporting roles and the trailer is built around hey memba these characters.

 Re: Lost City previews
Jewel of the Nile is underrated, always bummed the third never made it past the script. Though we do have war of the roses
