Since they've released this 2022 DC spot for The Batman, Black Adam, Flash and Aquaman 2 (with it saying Only in Theaters!! Lol) let's discuss and predict what'll happen with DC this year.

I think having Flash and Aquaman in release so close is a mistake. Also Batgirl is supposed to come in December too...? I expect something to move but if Aquaman stays I guess good luck with sharing or even lack of premium screens like Matrix last year.

If everything goes right, all these projects should gross $200m+ domestic. We shall see...

Moviewise I am most anticipating Flashpoint. And I think it will be the highest grossing.

Honestly I think Shazam can outdo the first in that spot. The first one made less than $150m. If it's as good as the first one and opens decently it can leg it out. Jumanji is a good comparison, Shazam should open a week before.

Shazam actually should be a pretty different film than Avatar, whereas Aquaman is probably pretty similar, so it's a good date for it. It's probably lower budget as well and would be fine with a 150-200m gross rather than 300m+ Aquaman is looking for

May not happen but I think it would be funny seeing headlines like "Avatar gets Shazamed" if audiences completely reject it.

I think the Shazam <> Aquaman switch is a good one. Shazam should make bank and will be a better alternative to Avatar. I'd love Shazam to out do it too (unlikely I know).

Not happy Flash is moving so far off really but it was never going to open a week before Wakanda.

Does anybody actually care about Avatar anymore? I can't believe James Cameron has spent 12 years making sequels to one of the most generic films ever instead of doing something interesting. He could've made five great films in that period. He could've made another Alien or Terminator and revitalized those franchises, which are still more interesting and original than Avatar despite being so overdone with bad sequels, reboots etc.

Avatar was a phenomenon, at least box office wise. So I can totally understand the sequel and I'm actually quite interested in it too.

But sure, for him to basically dedicate the rest of his career/ life just on the Avatar franchise feels like a shame.

People shit all over Avatar now, but it got great reviews and was like the #2 contender for Best Picture after The Hurt Locker. It even won the Golden Globe if I recall correctly. People will turn up whenever it actually comes out.

Avatar will be big at least 350m total, if it really disappoints. 500m is likely. It was a general audiences WOM monster, even if film fans tilt their nose at it.
