Seeing the rest of it's run will be interesting. Given the reception and upcoming holidays it should have at least a 3x multiplier.. which would indicate a 780m total. Even if it has Last Jedi's multiplier it'll finish around $730m.

Hoping for more than Avatar.

We decided to rent our local theater (small, single-screen independently owned) for Tuesday as an Xmas gift for everyone, so checking it out then with some family.

I'm expecting it to get past Avatar and enter Top 3.

I mean, has anything ever been done like it? where past and present collide so seamlessly? it's cinema at it's best.

Days of Future Past and TFA come to mind.

To reach #1 of all time, Spidy needs a 3.603 multiplier. That's not impossible but will be hard.

I'm still thinking on this. The holidays haven't yet started. The biggest numbers are already out of its way and government might not want to impose all restrictions next few days. NWH can still get great legs from here on with great WoM and pent-up demand.

I think Endgame did a similar concept and ofcourse Days of the Future Past both of which were well received but I am sure there are far more failures of this concept which we are forgetting...because

Yes Days of Future Past is probably the best example. It's ambitious and can easily fail but worked well with NWH.

I think the next big Marvel uber event will be getting the Avengers (incl Spidey), X-Men, GotG (maybe new team) and F4 in the one movie.

Yep that's the course they need to begin because audience/fans are waiting for this to happen. If they serve it to fans the next Avengers is going to explode.....again.

My local news just reported Spider-Man is the 3rd highest opening weekend of all-time. They had all day to get the news that it's 2nd now.

The next number is $621,277,849. That's End Game's 10 day total. $540,058,914 is SW Ep. 9th 10 day.

Spidy looks to gain some serious ground with rush outs this week (likely from people wanting to see Spidy before theaters possibly close), kids out of school, and then Christmas next week.

All it needs is to keep going above SW7 at this point and if it does that there is a very high chance to surpass Endgame in the end and become #2 domestic movie of all time

Days of Future Past BO has to be one of the most disappointing

Why? it completely revitalized the franchise in terms of box office and critically. This was coming off the franchise low of The Wolverine remember. DOFP is definitely better than No Way Home, but the X-Men franchise in general was never as big as the other Marvel films. Spider-Man is in that SW category so just a sense of nostalgia makes it a game changer.

Yeah I don't think DOFP was disappointing as well. Those movies never got big but them integrating in MCU will make them huge.

Incredible numbers and great for the film industry but a giant mess at this happening JUST when the ultra-contagious omicron variant is making its way through the US. If it's indeed as contagious as measels then a single person could infect an entire theatre since most people take the mask on and off in between sips and munching popcorn. And then with Christmas and New Year's Eve right around the corner....

January is going to be a very dark month.
