Trickling in... ;)

Black Adam: $67m

WB has to be happy with his result. IMs and audience scores also look pretty promising. No doubt enough to justify moving forward. Add in some other major characters and future films will make some real money.

Also, The Rock is king. Is there any doubt this movie makes like $15m opening weekend if someone else had been the star?

It's $4 million more than I expected, so it's doing well. That goes for both openers.

Box office surpassed $100M+ this weekend for the first time since July!

64% of all ticket buyers were 35 and older for TTP so it's going to have a leggier run along with its audience scores. It's already at $96M globally so it's already more than made back its budget.

Both new openers did well for what they are and should hold well for the next weeks. Definitely nice to see.

Excellent weekend. Thrilled that Black Adam opened higher than projected. Keep it rolling through Wakanda.

$67M for a major superhero movie is nothing to be impressed with on its own. However, getting there from a $7.4M preview does indicate a promising run ahead. Yeah Black Panther is gonna cause a major drop in a few weeks, but I could see Black Adam recovering after that. The movies in between Wakanda and Avatar aren't gonna gross very much.

-80% for Halloween Ends!

Terrifier is having an interesting run. I kinda wanna watch the first one now just to see what all the hype is about.

Halloween already below Smile and won't pass $75m at this point. Yikes.

Think that's a good # for Black Adam. Think it would've had the same opening in the summer.

Don't :P. The first is not good. The second is awesome though and you can totally watch it without seeing the first. I feel like if you watch the first you'll be turned off from watching the far superior movie in the series.

I really hope they can get it into a bunch more theaters Halloween weekend. The results are very impressive when it has 1-2 showings daily at most theaters. It's always packed/sold out around here now since the hype rolled in big time last Monday.

I would love to see it pass 10 Million which is likely even if it falls hard after Halloween. It might be safe the first weekend after but then it will start to see bigger drops.

The first is superior. Its low-budget horror and creepiness factor serve it well, whereas the sequel is only blood and guts. I mean, neither is top-notch film-making, but the first hits harder. Terrifier 2 is squarely focused on shock value, but I saw beyond its prosthetic Papier-mâché bodies. Though it is sequenced more like a typical horror film as opposed to the unwavering brutality of the first.

Agree to disagree. :P The second actually has a story so if one prefers one of those then I'd highly recommend it. It also has a bigger budget and looks better. Rotten Tomatoes is 59% vs. 88%. You decide. But if you watch the first and hate it like I did still give the second one a shot.

It will probably out-gross Bros at this rate. ;)

But, yes, the next eight days will be important for it. Afterwards, it's going to struggle. But then I think all movies, whether it's Smile or Lyle or Woman King, will tick over nicely until Wakanda Forever dominates the box office.

It is still niche horror, so don't expect too much. But I could see a Wrong Turn-type run.

There's definitely another 5 Terrifier movies coming. These are practically printing money right now with 20X it's budget back and Halloween still a week to go.

Would be really something to see 3 different horror movies lead in the same month. Though Terrifier won't be #1 it could top Smile from buzz and watercooler talk if it really takes off but would need to triple it's gross and have Smile not have a big jump. Not likely but not impossible.

I would say I expect just 2+ Million for Terrifier next weekend but I've also noticed some theaters going from 1 daily showing to 3-4 next weekend. And hundreds of theaters that never had it are getting it. I still can't see it going higher than 4 Million and I'd put it in the 2-3 Million range. But the more the merrier.

Monday Black Adam $4,500,000 -73% $71,504,323 4

That's almost the same drop as Venom 2 which made $5,750,338 from a $90M opening.

Completely a wild guess but if BA follows Venom 2's 4day to total multiplier of 2.23, would finish with $159.5M total.

Venom 2 had NTTD weekend 2, Halloween weekend 3 and Dune weekend 4 for 3 $40M+ openers in a row while BA has nothing until BP2 weekend 4. It also isn't a sequel so can probably eek out a slightly better multiplier. I'll say my best guess is it ends at about $170M but so much will depend on weekend 2 hold.

Venom feels like a faster burn film due to OW rush out but yes a total between $170-$190m seems to be on the cards for BA.

Tuesday #: Black Adam $5,450,000 +21% $76,957,029

These are solid dailies so far. BA should have a chance to do a $30M+ second weekend (under 55% drop).

I follow the writer/director and producer on Twitter. They announced it on Monday.

Not sure about Till.
