Weekend Estimates
1 Eternals $71,000,000 2 Dune $7,620,000 -50.6 $83,946,000 3 No Time To Die $6,181,000 -20.3 $143,152,000 4 Venom 2 $ 4,465,000 -22.3 $197,008,000 5 Ron's Gone Wrong $3,600,000 -3.8 $17,568,000 6 The French Dispatch $2,600,000 -0.1 $8,473,000 7 Halloween Kills $2,300,000 -73.7 $89,710,000 8 Spencer $2,140,000 9 Antlers $2,000,000 -53.2 $7,604,000 10 Last Night in Soho $1,800,000 -56.8 $7,700,000
Venom and Bond dropping low 20's is crazy. I suspect these are older demographics who wanted to see those movies in theaters but not early on. Bond may make a run for $200M if it can hang on to theaters with a Thanksgiving bump up though its highly unlikely. Venom has 6 weekends in the top 5. It probably could have done $350M+ in regular times as it seems incredibly well liked by audiences.

Re: Weekend Estimates
Eternals # is decent tbh. Better reviews and a more well liked film I think this could've been the bigest opening of the year. May finish under Black Widow but we'll see what happens with legs.
The drops for Venom and NTTD are baffling. Good for them. Venom may beat the first now.
Next weekend will be crucial in if Dune hits $100m. With nothing big releases I expect it'll manage.

Re: Weekend Estimates
Ron's Gone Wrong barely dropped! Very promising for Clifford to surprise.

Re: Weekend Estimates
Good enough but possibly the most boring blockbuster opening ever.
What's up with these drops and can Dune get it on them?

Re: Weekend Estimates
Looks like Dune can eek $100m now which is good.
NTTD can get to $175-$180m which is very good all said and done.
The Venom love is real. A third film with Spidey would go through the roof.
Solid for Eternals - from here it's likely to end around $180-$190m unless WOM is really bad.

Its reactions so far has been abysmal whether its B cinemascore or 81% RT user rating( BW has 91% while SC has 98%). It will crash hard next weekend and then plod on for somewhere below F9.

Re: Weekend Estimates
MCU originals tend to have better legs in general. This opening for Eternals is on par with Ant-Man, we should compare this to origins movies and not sequels that opened much bigger. I think Eternals will end with $160m-$170m range.

Re: Weekend Estimates
Boss Baby, Adams Family and Raya have all done business in the 50s along with a day and date streaming/PVOD option. Interesting to see how Encanto does.

Re: Weekend Estimates
Eternals had a good sunday. I am thinking it goes up a bit from estimates. ~71.5m OW

Re: Weekend Estimates
Interesting... looking forward to its box office for the next week, maybe it can beat Black Widow barring a high 60s drop next weekend.

Raya was released without Regal, Cinemark and Los Angeles, and majority of the country unvaccinated. With all that I think it couldv'e done 100m+ Addams family has done like 2/3 of the orignal with poor WOM and a streaming option. I think Encanto will do 100m+

I figured that with Thanksgiving coming up and the fact that it's an original Marvel with no simultaneous Disney + release - that it could leg it out despite the poor reception. Maybe $180m+ is optimistic but $170m is attainable IMO.
