... basically predict Eternals 2nd weekend. I'm gonna guess 67% drop. So with around 70m weekend that's 23.1m. Clifford I see probably having a 5-day in the low teens. |

I can see it holding better with no competition. If say 60% drop for Eternals. |

WOM is mediocre. it will drop big on its own without competition. I am in 65%+ camp as well. Dont forget previews are much bigger part of its OW than for SC. BW dropped big without any competition as well. |

I feel like the lack of competition plus theatrical exclusivity will keep it from 65%. Maybe 64%/. |

Eternals will surprise and not because its a great movie, its because the MCU fanbase will show-up even after mediocre WoM. |

There are a few thing helping eternals as well: Diversity and curiosity. It’s very non MCU, which I think helps a lot. The wom is not abysmal to casual audiences. We haven’t seen a non entity open this high yet. It might just do well because of it (we’ve seen far worse films be leggy) Soft second weekend. No openers plus a it increased healthily on Saturday so it confirms point one. If it can do over 27 and you have the holiday coming out it might just well surprise. Black Widow was killed by Disney+ weeks 2 and 3 with the platform outselling tickets, so we should really stop comparing that films legs. As far as the MCU goes. It does have a very one off feel which I’m sure Marvel wasn’t hoping for that, but it’s far enough away to just be a blip on the screen, especially now that all 3 Spider-Man photos have been leaked. They can be added in and change the dynamic with better writers. We tend to forget how meh the first Thor, CA, and Hulk films were. They were good enough to establish. |
