October 29-October 31 predictions
I'm thinking $9m for Last Night in Soho.
Not sure how wide My Hero Academia is going but the last one in 2019 did $5.8m opening weekend.
I'm expecting a heavy drop for Dune. 65% drop from around $35m would be around $12.25m weekend. Enough for #1? Maaaaybe.

Soho - 5 Million Antlers - 3 Million
A Mouthful of Air with Amanda Seyfried opens wide too. Probably a debut under 1 Million.

I hope Wright + ATJ + horror on Halloween would be enough for $10M+ even in this climate.

Yeah I hope Antlers does well. It looks really good and the reviews are strong for the genre.

Feeling like Dune will avoid a 60% drop, thinking it drops less than Godzilla v. Kong week 2.

Re: October 29-October 31 predictions
Went on Dango to buy Last Night in Soho tickets tonight ... and only one other seat has been sold so far. Yikes! Guess I really am the only one excited about this. Weird, I know that directors haven't been draws in the Pandemic Era, but I figued that, while not an A-lister or even a draw yet, Anya Taylor Joy coming off the red hot Queen's Gambit made her enough of an It girl to put some butts in the seats. And its Halloween! Come on peoples, go see a spooky time travel movie!

Re: October 29-October 31 predictions
Last Night in Soho is one of my most anticipated films. But sadly there doesn’t appear to be much buzz around it. Despite looking great it just hadn’t ignited enough interest among critics or audiences.

Re: October 29-October 31 predictions
My Hero Academia is going to beat both the openers. it has insane ATP(even smaller markets have $15 at AMC) and it has sold well. Even if its PS driven and AMC dominates its BO I see it do 4m+ OD which should be sufficient for double digits OW considering there will be spillovers.
Sorry. that was too high. Probably closer to 3m or so.
I have not tracked Soho or Antlers but looking at tracking thread at BOT, its looking dire for both. Definitely missing double digits for Soho and Antlers missing 5m for sure.

Re: October 29-October 31 predictions
After seeing it, I think there was a better way to market Soho, but it was never going to be the hit I had in my mind. Still should have hit $10M given the weekend it opened on.

I wasn't debating that it would do a 60% drop. Its a well received "original"/reboot with good/great WoM and full PLF screen support, plus no competition this weekend. Though I wouldn't call that my gut feeling

Glad to hear that MHA is doing well. I love that series and would catch-up on the movie sometime soon.

Re: October 29-October 31 predictions
$10 million+ for MHA would be excellent. The last movie opened to $9.2 million over its first five-days (Wednesday opening day).

Re: October 29-October 31 predictions
Its insanely PS driven. So I doubt it will hit 10m. But could still end up doing better than Soho. Edit: Even that is looking unlikely. I was way off with this. Terrible weekend overall. Thinking Dune friday at 5m and MHA in low 2's.
