Well sometimes things dont go as you think it will. But this has happened 2 weeks in a row after a blockbuster week when trend went higher and higher.

Next week I will be conservative. Dune is fanboy driven plus its releasing for free on HBO Max next thursday. Not a recipe for a huge walkups.

4.9 for Halloween Kills. Don’t think it’ll hit 50 with that. If it follows the first, 48 million. I'll say 43-47. Back on June 30th.

I absolutely love this franchise, but it there is one thing I've learned, the good ones that break out often see major drop offs in the follow up. Which is great because the last one was massive.

Halloween II retention (53%)
Halloween Resurrection retention (54.5%)
Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 rentention (57%)

I'll give Halloween Kills the benefit of the doubt and say this is actually going to be marketed well, has continuity, and the soft marketplace but it's 2nd weekend drop is going to be brutal. The first barely hit a 2 multiplier.

I'll say it makes 90-105 million after a 50 million opening.

Venom didn't stabilise and Bond's good weekdays didn't help it's weekend.

Very impressive for Halloween though I assume next one will open lower due to muted WoM on this one. It will be interesting to see HK's second weekend drop.
