According to BOT, there is a chance it may get to $80M 4-day, but Keysersoze123's data will tell a better picture.

I'm going with $70m 3-day it's not available on streaming the movie going conditions are same as before, it has better reviews and hope is picking up.

$30.6m = biggest Labor Day weekend opening (2007's HALLOWEEN)
$41.1m = biggest inflation adjusted Labor Day weekend opening (2007's HALLOWEEN)
$53.3m = biggest inflation adjusted Labor Day weekend (5th weekend of 1999's THE SIXTH SENSE)

Sixth Sense did not have 3D, Imax, PLF. That gross is worth even more and its crazy it happened during its 5th weekend. Epic run for sure.

On Shang Chi, it will crush the record but would weather have a small impact. Its PS is frontloaded but let us see how walkups go. I think previews should go above 8m barring something crazy.

Sixth Sense really was unreal type of run that could easily have gone wrong.

It opened as one of five openers (Dick, The Iron Giant, Mystery Men, The Thomas Crown Affair).

Mystery Men was Ben Stiller's major There's Something About Mary follow up.
Thomas Crown Affair was at the peak of Pierce Brosnan James Bond time.
Iron Giant became a cult classic that was forgotten in its original run.
Dick came out during the peak of the Michelle William's Dawson Creek days.

Biggest factor it overcame though was The Blair Witch Project. Blair Witch had its massive limited to wide expansion the weekend before and became a pop culture phenomenon. The Sixth Sense opened the following weekend when TBWP doubled its theater count with 1041 more theaters.

Sense could have easily got forgotten by the Blair Witch Project but managed to double its total gross. :whaa:

So we saying this will ecplode? I can smell the flop out of this from miles away. I pray im wromg cuz this is most likely the most important film for the rest of the year.

Louisiana isn't a big state like California and New York in terms of movie theater attendance but 1 million households without electricity because of Ida should have a small effect on the box office.
