For this club to happen Shang-Chi will have to beat BB3's $204,417,855. No film has hit the mark $200m mark since. For this to happen I think it would have to open around Black Widow. Seems like a tough order but f it. And Venom moving will help. It literally has the whole month to itself. Dear Evan Hansen may do well but that's at the end of the month. |

Thinking ~$50-60 million / ~$150 million+. But certainly want it to earn as much as possible. |

Normally I'd think it's a hard sell in North America but you guys seem pretty confident in it so I trust your take on it. I know they already used a few of the recognizable asian actors for Mulan but I wish this cast was a little more stacked, not sure I'm feeling either the lead or villain. I guess it's hard because there's too many of the recognizable asian actors who are not Chinese, Henry Golding and Steven Yeun would probably be two of the best guys to give a superhero franchise to and they're Malaysian/Korean, even John Cho might have been an option and he's Korean also. Jackie Chan getting in on this as a mentor or villain would've been nice. |

I think under normal circumstances this would've done $100m+. I think strong asian support would've happened Crazy Rich Asians style. Now I bet a lot of that community may be cautious cause of the pandemic. Will be interesting to see the demographic breakdown. |

Just avoid IMBD all-together now. I don't know when they changed it (had to be in the last 6-8 weeks), but their new layout sucks. Looks like a streaming app now. Not that a steaming app layout is *bad*, but not exactly useful when looking for information. |

I think it has potential because it didn't have streaming and the market is ready for a blockbuster after a dry summer other than sprinkled medium sized hits. I see this opening just below Black Widow and then have legs to go there. Btw the lead has worked in Kim's Convenience a Canadian sitcom. There are bigger Asian names for sure but this is how you build starpower plus MCU and Disney brands are so huge they don't need big starpower. For this club I'll join. |

PS around half of BW. I dont see this coming close to that in OW. Probably around 50m OW. No chance it has that big a legs with a 45 day run and weekdays not being strong in september. Plus this will be fan driven and so 2nd weekend drop wont be great. 2.5x is good for this. So I would say 50/125. |

I think the ads just have not looked like anything special, without the Marvel brand it would do Snake Eyes numbers. 55m would be a solid start, and anything 60+ would be great. I think it can get a 2.7X+ multiplier too without streaming and being an original. |
