get farther away from the pandemic, get a better release date, and also take advantage of the 60th anniversary of the franchise

Holy shit no. Another move and literally no one will give a fuck about this. They really should've released it now.

Yeah they should just release it now. Another delay and it will lose casual audience and fans might decide to wait for another month to stream it at home.

It has a perfect release date now

Christ if they move it again, they might as film the new one and make a super Bond passing the torch film.

They need to release now as in August and not even wait till October.

The Sep-Nov corridor is epic this year - hope the films can be released without any pandemic closures.

studios, like many other businesses, have no idea just how bad things are probably going to be again come fall/winter. this will be lucky to break 125m at best.

Gov. is probably about to take some pretty dramatic action on the covid front so lets hope not...

I’m of the opinion that No Time To Die shouldn‘t have been made at all. Craig Bond is probably my overall favorite, but he was clearly burned out by Spectre, and that movie was a huge bummer because of it. I don’t blame him for taking another bag, but he would have been fine walking away. Look at how much fun he was having on Knives Out.

Idrid Elba is currently 48, and will be 52ish by the time the next Bond comes out. Probably too late. This was the time to make it happen, even if it was only for one or two films. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is one of the all time best (3 for me in the series) and they could have easily played off that

I’ve agreed with this since seeing Spectre. That movie (from what I remember) would have been the perfect ending to his Bond. Another one, this many years later is.... ugh. Flat. Unnecessary.

No Time to Release

Case numbers should be high, but unless people start dying from vaccine breakthrough infections at a much higher rate, there's no reason covid should shut any businesses down. We're still at over 99% of covid deaths being among unvaccinated.

Millions of people get the flu each year, but don't die, just like they won't for covid with the vaccine, unless of course it starts killing vaccinated people at far higher rates.

Good point. The market could be less favorable this fall. It obviously depends on the trajectory of hospitalizations and importantly, further crackdowns in the forms of quarantines, closures, etc. Release it now.
