Well, Tenet's performance has shifted the balance of power in favor of the studios.

How does marketing work with a streaming release? Do they put out trailers? It doesn't seem like there's any footage of Godzilla vs. Kong out there.......is it a thing where it's supposed to pick up steam once it's released and the ~marketing~ is essentially being prominently featured once you log onto Netflix and PR media coverage?

That new trailer of Godzilla and Kong is awesome. Only took 3 shitty movies to get there, looks like it may finally deliver.

Yeah the trailer got me hyped but its hard to be optimistic after the disaster known as King of the Monsters.

The trailers for this monsters franchise have all been excellent. Then we watch the movies and they turn out to be just okay

Yep the trailer is good but I fully expect the trailer to be final 15 minutes of the movie. I imagine a lot of time will be spent on setting up Kong and girl, Godzilla and his menace back stories.

I’d agree if that trailer didn’t have more footage of Godzilla than the entire first movie. But yes those could be all the shots, at least it shows 3 different battle settings

The Godzilla V. Kong trailer is great and seems to be creating alot of hype online, so I'm thinking it should do really well on HBO Max, although not as well if it would have if it had a proper theatrical release.

As for the movie itself I do hope it delivers and makes everyone happy when it comes to the amount of satisfying monster action and less focus on the human drama, but sadly none of these Monsterverse movies have really lived up to their trailers and that's coming from someone who enjoyed both Kong: Skull Island and KOTM.

It does have more shots of Godzilla but again the titular fight seems to be only one or two scenes. I highly doubt Kong will fight Godzilla in the middle of the sea and they would most likely move into the city as continuation of that scene, even if not the other two scenes are definitely from the same fight.

Godzilla alone is shown multiple times which I believe will be it's back story.

Also is it me or the color palate makes the trailer look cheap?

Godzilla v Kong being released on March 31 now... seems it was moved because of the Snyder cut but idk why they couldn't have pushed that up? Whatever.

The Reddit stocks mess that's happening just raised $1 billion for AMC, saving them from bankruptcy.

Theatres are not dead yet!

It increased the value of their own shares but it doesn't actually give them money in any way unless they make a larger offering.

Ah they had a larger offering in December and took out a line of credit elsewhere.

Welp. In a reversal of fortunes....THE SNYDER CUT is looking to be a gigantic digital hit. KONG vs. GODZILLA looks to be by far the biggest theatrical film since Covid began.

Tom and Jerry opening above Raya despite it being free on HBO Max is really something lol

Godzilla v Kong could open with more than WW with LA and NY being open.

Just get vaccinated so you will not have to worry.
