Probably around $200m domestic. I think casting Cena is more a swipe at Dwayne than a coup for the franchise. Still should at least retain the 8th films audience. |

I didn't even really like the trailer, but it will probably still make it past $200M domestic and $1B WW unless the coronavirus situation is still an issue in China 3 months from now. |

I was expecting this to continue the downward trend, but the trailer definitely has some Fast Five vibes. And while losing The Rock will hurt, the rest of the cast seems to be having a better time without him around. I think it’ll open to $95M and close with ~$220M. |

New trailer: If Godzilla vs. Kong started the American Cinema Rescue Effort, this is probably gonna be what clinches it. At the current pace of vaccinations we should have the majority of Americans fully vaccinated by the time this opens. I'm pretty confident this will be our first $150M+ grosser since Sonic. Could be our first $225M+ grosser since Rise of Skywalker/Jumanji 2 if the movie is good enough. |

This will probably be my first movie back in theaters and I bet alot of others will be the same. In The Before Times I’d have this at $110M / $240M ish. Now .. I dunno maybe it can hit $50M opening weekend. Godzilla v Kong had more hype and accessibility though. So it will all come down to how many more people will be allowed in a single theater. If Fast 9 opened this week I’d have it in the $25-30M range. |

What? The last dropped off big time, this would have continued the trend, I think Hobbs & Shaw, Pandemic, and longer break has helped from being a Pirates 5/ Transformers 5 type of situation, but 8's gross was already heading toward that direction. No idea where this will go, but it'll land somewhere between Tokyo Drift and 2Fast 2 Furious most likely. |

I don't see the big hype here. The first trailer wasn't big and yes this trailer looks better but nothing that this series hasn't done before. Plus Statham and Johnson are a big loss for this series and Cena never broke into mainstream like those two. If the situation goes back to normal then yes it will out open GvK but with the same situation as today it would do $30m-$35m. Fast is no longer a must see theatrical experience franchise. |

That first trailer got a ton of hype. They lost the Rock and Statham, but having Dom v Cena gives it a Fast Five feeling, and everyone knows that is the best one. Plus, Han and Jordana Brewster are back. Plus they’re going to space. People would’ve turned up. |
