 The Blind Side Box-Office Thread - $255,959,475 This flick has A LOT of potential as far as its legs go.
These are the multipliers for other sports dramas as well as for well-received films released on the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Remember the Titans - 5.52
Walk the Line - 5.35
National Treasure - 4.93
The Rookie - 4.72
Casino Royale - 4.1
Invincible - 3.39
Miracle - 3.32
Glory Road - 3.13
Coach Carter - 2.78
Considering its aim at adult audiences, little direct competition in that regard and an A+ from CinemaScore...this will stick around for a while. However it won't have the big awards support to carry it to such a great multiplier as Walk the Line's.
I project $155 million

Re: How much will The Blind Side gross in total? Whatever it makes it doesn't deserve that much. It's a generic based on a true story sports movie. It doesn't deserve the over $100M that it's likely to make.

Hardly even anyone thought $100 million was even remotely possible the day before it opened. I'd say it's definitely heading for $145+ million at this point. Easily one of the top 5 surprises of the year.

Wow...what an astounding number... Don't be too sure about that. Warner Bros. is campaiging Sandra Bullock for Best Actress, and she's expected to receive at least a Golden Globe nomination for 'The Blind Side.'

Walk the Line, however, won three Golden Globes, was nominated for five Oscars and was widely expected to get a Best Picture nom too until it, well, didn't get it.
The Blind Side has a chance at one award nom and one only.
