Jonah Hill is out. I think people would have had a hard time taking him seriously and that would have been distracting

PAUL DANO has slid in real quick to take the Riddler role.

Honestly any solid actor that kind of fits the role will be good. Dano is a much better choice. Hoping this means it'll be more on the thriller side. Between Pattinson, Dano, and Kravitz I think they have a combined weight of 350.

Looking forward to seeing The Lighthouse. It will, incidentally, be the first time I see Robert Pattinson onscreen. Having a hard time picturing him as Bruce Wayne from the magazine photos.

He just needs to put on about 30lbs of muscle and we're set.

He won't be nearly as right for the role as Michael Caine. Maybe they should've told Jonah Hill they wanted him to be a fat Penguin and he would've stayed. Once a fat always a fat inside, he would've jumped at the chance to have a 50lbs weight gain subsidized.

I saw someone say they should switch roles and I kinda agree lol. I think Farrell will do a good job though regardless.

No "far-off" film has dominated social media like this one since DA FORCE AWAKENS. Every actor has been a top global trend on Twatter at time of release.
$300m+ opening weekend in coming

Re: Robert Pattinson Is The Batman = $1.5B WW Club
I hope Reeves makes a great movie. I doubt OW will be that big. But if the movie is great then it will do 450m+ domestic which would be great. Then the sequel can open to 250m and probably 650m domestic.
OS is different beast. Joker did not play like a SH or CB movie. So I doubt that will reflect on Batman's OS. But TDKR did great and a great Batman movie will make 300m+ in China. So it could beat Joker OS without doing so well in Europe.

I have less faith in this with the recent castings (other than Dano). Too many villains also.

I am liking the casting for this so far, but it does look like it's going to be really overstuffed with villains. I have faith in Reeves though, and honestly I'm just hoping he does something new and innovative with this character that we haven't really gotten before.

Re: Robert Pattinson Is The Batman = $1.5B WW Club
I don't see how the casting on this is anything special. Has any of these actors excited you in casting for any of their movies (and that includes Pattinson)? Pattinson has been so many good roles but until he got cast in a Nolan flick and became Batman nobody cared. I think its the characters than the actors that are driving this which is in a way good but its not because of the cast being good. They are all decent actors but none of them groundbreaking. Matt Reeves is a great director and sure I believe that Andy Serkis wouldn't get Alfred's role because of his association with the director in Planet of the Apes movies.

A director cast someone he's worked with in the past?!?!
Never happened before.

You're not excited about the casting of a bunch of non-A list actors. Cool. And then you questioned the casting of Serkis because you assume it's because of his previous relationship with Reeves.

Re: Robert Pattinson Is The Batman = $1.5B WW Club
There is nothing wrong in them working together neither did I question it. But Andy Serkis would have no where been in contention had it not been Reeves doing this film. Alfred's character is too nuanced for Serkis as an actor at this point and no one would have thought of him for this role otherwise.

Re: Robert Pattinson Is The Batman = $1.5B WW Club
ok, cool. different directors would have hired different actors. and some of those directors would have hired actors they've worked with in the past.
Serkis has done very little live acting. He was fine in King Kong, was pretty good in ROTK, was pretty good in Black Panther. But he's by far and away the best mo-cap actor working. So clearly he can actually act. It's just a matter of getting that on film without CGI. Reeves got damn fine performances out of him in Apes. And Alfred is hardly a nuanced character.
