Once again, disapointed when objectively Sith is posting impressive numbers. That opening day really left me wanting more. Amazing week for it, esp. considering it was a "normal" weekend. MIL is holding up quite well, looks like this really is JLo's best genre. Others: nice, but can summer get here soon enough. One wonders if HOW will slip past KOH by Friday in the dailies |

Too bad it couldn't have done more midnight shows. Anyway, still unsure if it will get to 400. |

ROTS aside (which is holding up well, but no surprises), the movie making the most impressive numbers of the bunch is Crash. It looks to drop less than 25% this wekend again and should reach a $40+ million total with ease. I think this one will end up with a multiplier of over 5. Kingdom of Heaven...what a huge disappointment...It probably won't even break $50 million and outgross King Arthur ![]() Monster in Law is a great success, but it still won't become J-Lo's biggest. I see it topping out at around $80-85 million, well below Maid in Manhattan. |

Although RotS had a slightly smaller Wednesday drop than AotC, the holds were somewhat better in general for other movies yesterday versus the equivalent day of AotC's run. So I'd say this continues the trend of legs a bit worse than AotC's but better than Reloaded's. |

Monster-in-Law and Crash both continue to show that WOM is strong. I loved them both, so I'm not surprised. I never had any interest in Kingdom of Heaven, and it doesn't look like many others do, either. I'm sure that it sucking (so I hear) is contributing, but it's been a big disappointment out of the gate before anyone knew if it sucked or not. I personally think these kinds of epics should not be released in summer. Nice little bump for Kicking and Screaming. |

But then I missed the fact that HOW had a better Friday last week than KOH as well. Better the question will HOW beat out KOH over the weekend. I now think its possible. KOH is showing no signs of developing the late term legs that even bad epics usually show, and HOW would seem to be the more attactive of the two choices for overflow from 2 out of the three big guns. |

I take back what I said. KOH loses 1,480 theatres this weekend, HOW loses over 1,100 as well. They will probably have similar numbers on Friday and KOH will barely get ahead over the weekend because movies like KOH usually have a better multiplier. Both will make less than $2 million over three day anyway. |

With this level of shedding, no idea where they will end up, other than I absolutely agree with your last point. If it weren't a holiday, they'd probably be pressed to clear 2M between them. |

That's a much better drop than I was expecting for Sith. I though it was going to drop between 14% and 17%. |

House Of Wax should be at $28.2M by tomorrow. All it needs is $1.8M over the next 4 day holiday to pass a solid $30,000,000. YahooMovies and Box Office Prophets report HOW's budget as $30M....however, BOM says $40M. So either way, it's domestic run has been solid, and it should get between $50M-60M worldwide. Total Worldwide Gross: $31,859,946 International: From Singapore, South Korea & Taiwan: $3,960,000. Thats a solid INTL gross from 3 small territories. I rekon it could finish with over $30M internationally. Taking the WORLDWIDE total passed $60M ![]() HOW opens in: Belgium, France ($1M), Germany ($1M), Hong Kong ($.5M), Netherlands ($.3M), Thailand ($.15M), Iceland, Ireland, Italy ($.7M), Norway ($.04M), Sweden ($.03M) & UK ($1.5M) So i'm expecting around $5,000,000 this weekend. Raising the total to $9,000,000 internationally. Raising the worldwide total nearer $40M. |

Fantastic for SITH at 8.6 Million and some of you, I'm forced to wonder if your on crack if you think this is a disappointing number compared to the other films on that list that are barely cracking a Milion per day?? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think the legs are only slightly better then Reloaded though. |
