Fans of the Dark Side spent another $8.7M in ticket sales on the George Lucas megablockbuster Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith slipping 13% from Tuesday's gross. That gives the Jedi pic a massive $191.4M in its first seven days putting it a hair behind the reigning record holder Spider-Man 2 which took in $192.1M in its first full week in theaters. The webslinger sequel opened in the middle of summer when students were out of school, had the Independence Day holiday weekend to provide a sales boost, and played in 491 more theaters. Sith generated a colossal opening week average of $52,271 from 3,661 locations beating out Spider-Man 2 which averaged $46,263 from 4,152 sites.
Episode III's Tuesday-to-Wednesday decline of 13% matched the drop of Episode II on the same days during its opening week three years ago. However, after seven days in theaters, the concluding chapter of the new trilogy has grossed an astonishing 42% more than the $134.8M that the middle tale captured at the same point from 3,161 theaters.

Quote: BTW yesterday might have quite a good hold. It was 28th Star Wars anniversary yesterday and some of the fans might have gone to see ROTS again. Oh well we shall see. I predict 8.8 for Wed.
I was so close to be correct Good numbers

Good job Sith. And if it is $8.7m, that's 12.2% drop.
